TB - Anyone else feel pushed to do Abyss run?

With the way Kabaam has treated the disparity between Cav vs TB recently, anyone feel pressured into getting TB status ASAP?

Absolutely.....I've got all the necessary champs just didn't want to spend the time farming potions/revives and I didn't want to spend the units. However, it looks like its going to have to happen sooner than I would like

3 guys did an Abyss run the past few days in my alliance. One is currently at IW. Cavs are getting screwed over so bad it's forcing guys to do it. Good for business, but shady af imo.

I've been TB for a while. I do think the R3 requirement is unfair. It's got nothing to do with progression and everything to do about spending money.

But you want to be TB? This logic makes no sense. I'd say a very high percentage of current TB's did a abyss run if not doing it 100%. You want all the TB stuff but don't want to do the content that got the current TB's there.

It is about account progression, which requires you to do progression content, OR wait, and considering the target for the title is people with a large number of r3s, what makes it unfair that you only need one?

Special quests like Abyss weren’t intended to become “progressional” content—remember how it was supposed to be years before anyone could do it?

The ad hoc decisions—after the Roadmap was announced—to shift titles away from completing and exploring story quests is at the root of the problem. Poor design of Act 6 and a desire to monetize titles are also key causes.

I’m glad you have TB. It seems very important to you. But anyone who fails to acknowledge how lumping all Cavs together creates legitimate issues probably isn’t being fair or honest.

That doesn't make any sense, you're saying that people with one R3 aren't really worthy of the title because it's aimed at people with multiple r3s. So if it's aimed at people with multiple r3s, then why is the requirement one R3? If you meet the requirements you're the target audience, that's why the requirements are there in the first place.

I disagree, UC Cav and TB are story progression titles. Not account progression titles. R3 is a money thing. Period

I'm not saying that I should get all the things that come with TB without putting in the work. I enjoy the game.....just not the endless grinding required to have the resources to make 1 run through Abyss. Having a full time job and two 11 month old girls means my time is very limited to play.

We all have stuff outside the game as well. I have a full time job and 2 kids. At one point I had 2 jobs and kids as well but covid cost me one of my jobs. This isn't the best argument for not being TB.

Because with the target being many r3s, lets do a little hypothetical that works with any number. lets say the target is 3 (they explicitly said more than 3). If you set the requirement at 3, then many people with 2 are going to be screwed by RNG getting that third one. Therefore if the target is 3 or more getting only 1 has no RNG issue. It is common sense.

that used to be the case, when progression was hard, it is no longer hard, therefore it is not a story progression.

One should never feel forced to do anything pertaining to a video game. Manage expectations and priorities. It's just a game guys ... a good game or bad game ... just a game. Take the stress out of it and just play. If there's one thing to know, there will always be a new thing to entice you to spend. Thronebreaker is just the latest thing.

Again, just play. Don't put more into the game than necessary else it becomes not fun.

I still disagree. The R3 requirement is trash. A guy who just complete his Abyss run is considering a R3 Psylocke to get TB. That is not fair to be forced into ranking trash champs. Ranking up garbage is not account progression. It's a kick in the nuts.

Im throne breaker and the only money I've spent on the game this year is occasionally buying the 735 unit monthly card when I know Im going to want to tackle content that month. I think the idea Thronebreaker is locked behind a paywall is a little overstated

The target is not multiple R3s, the majority of Thronebreakers have one R3. They may have said that the target was more than 3 but when they set the requirement at one R3, that's what the target became.

There is no "force", there is a choice. you say as much in the sentence. "considering". It is not like kabam is taking the t5cc and making him do it. Just like doing story content was a choice, and you were never made to do it. These TB hate threads are so full of contradictions.

Again. I disagree. He must R3 Psylocke to get TB. Or get lucky with RNG on t5cc. Or buy a lot of Cav crystals and pray to the rng gods for a great mutant champ. So he has one easy choice. R3 Psylocke. Would you do it if it were your only option?

I am gonna hold out my opinion until we see the anniversary gifts. It has been kinda disappointing for cavs lately but hopefully the anniversary gifts make up for it.

or, and here me out, he could wait, do arenas and other things, get a better mutant, and then upgrade and get TB. He wants TB now, which is why he is going to rank up Psylocke. That by definition is an optional decision that he makes.

No, I would not do it, I would wait until I had a better champ BECAUSE IT IS A CHOICE. Him wanting TB does not mean that Kabam is forgoing him to rank up a champion, it is still his choice.
