Let’s Define the word “Free”

When the John Mulaney challenge came out, several people were talking about the resources that you could get for “free" this month. Now people are talking about the “free” 6* shards in the new arena. I would not call any of those rewards “free”. They are Earned. Yes, you do not have to pay with real world currency but you do have to work for them.

There ARE free things in this game! Any time you turn on the game and receive something automatically, that is free. Anniversary gifts are free (and much appreciated).
But when someone says that rewards which are behind content or a grind are “free” it devalues the effort and skill that went in to earn it. It also confuses the point when we are talking about actually free resources like gifts.
So, let’s celebrate our earned rewards and be grateful for our free gifts! Happy Anniversary, Summoners.

Anything that takes time to get isn't free, as time is money

then no one in this game is free to play, of course we all know what is meant by the word free.

imo, time spent on game is not of any value, we play game for fun and not work..as long as u don't spent any real money ingame, everything is free.

Probably didn’t actually earn as much as they would’ve liked considering the cavalier offers weren’t even remotely worth buying.

Then by that understanding wouldn’t even the anniversary gifts not be free? Since they are progression based and that progression would have took considerable time to get to. Free rewards are just an expression, no reason to get caught up in what they are called. Just collect what you can and don’t worry about the rest

Thai would work for single player games that are one offs like sudokku or temple run. In games like this that are never ending as well as highly competitive it doesn't work
I would not say this game is competitive, folks with big wallets would always be on top. Compare that with games like Pubg mobile, which earns more , a lot more , than this game, still no players have any advantage, if spending more money.

Free to play by definition is those who have not spent irl currency on a game
And "free" in this definition means something that did not cost currency. You have to be consistent in your meanings.
