New forums, new Character Wishlist thread

Just as a reminder, our rules:

Character requests are still a very frequent topic of conversation within our community, and with good reason - there are a ton of amazing Marvel characters in their universe.

The old Character wish list thread was ballooning a bit, and several characters requested in that thread have since been added to The Contest. We're starting up a new thread to house these discussions so that they can continue, but in a more up to date manner.

A few FAQ's:

1) Why haven't you added (X character) yet?!

A: there are so many characters we want to add, but simply haven't gotten to yet. A character's lack of presence in the Contest currently does not necessarily mean that we've overlooked them or that we don't already have them on our radar. Our teams have a finite amount of time in order to produce content, and we'd love to bang characters out quicker - but still need to maintain realistic developer cadences.

2) We need more female characters and more diversity.

A: Our own team is quite diverse itself, and we agree that representation is an important concern!

3) Why do you bother adding (X re-skinned character) when you've not even had a chance to add (x character not in The Contest)?

A: While some people are not a fan of character re-skins, MANY of our players are. The Marvel universe is one with a lengthy lore, and almost every beloved character has gone through some sort of costume change or shift at some point in their super-powered careers. These differences offer a good opportunity to re-introduce players to content they may not have managed to obtain the first time around, and allowing new players to pick up a certain champion while still keeping things a bit fresh. Our goal is to have a healthy balance between release types.

4) Can you confirm if a requested character is going to be released?

A: The short answer is no. We have specific timelines regarding when we can announce content, and that means that we can't pop in to say 'hey, that person is coming!'. For those wanting to keep on top of our latest announcements or teases, following our Twitter and Facebook accounts are your best shot. We also have an Instagram account that you should follow. This should go without saying, but please discuss the characters you'd like to see without insulting each other or trying to discredit someone's opinion. Friendly debate is welcome, but the emphasis here is 'friendly' ; )

CHAMPION SPOTLIGHT – GORR

Gorr enters The Contest MM/DDth at TT AM PDT!

GORR SUMMARY:

Member of a devoutly religious alien race that inhabit a very harsh, barren planet. He is forced to witness his family, wife and son, struggle and die while their prayers go unanswered... causing him to lose all faith in gods, believing that gods do not exist. This gets him exiled from his tribe and all his people. Then made to fend for himself and wander the desert-like terrain... he happens upon two gods, both mortally wounded from battling one another. Discovering that gods do exist, Gor vowed vengeance on all gods. He kills and absorbs them both, gaining The All-Black Necrosword. He then begins his campain killing many gods of fear, war, chaos, genocide, revenge, plagues, earthquakes, blood, wrath, jealousy, death, degradation, and very few gods of poetry and flowers. Then, turning his attention to Thor and the Asgardians.

.Grants him True Strike and Cruelty increasing Critical Damage by 70%.

Developer Note: The All-Black the Necrosword is the key to gorr’s kit. If you can remove this Buff he will struggle to turn the momentum of the battle in his favor.

Captured Lifeblood - Passive

.Over the course of a quest, Gorr’s weapon captures Lifeblood and stored up to 5 of them, empowering both him and itself. Captured Lifeblood travel with them from fight-to-fight.

.1 Lifeblood - Can Block Unblockable Special Attacks, Also Can Trigger The Parry Mastery Against Projectiles.

I really want Captain Britain, Black Knight, T-ray (Deadpool's arch enemy for a long time), Jubilee, Dust, Firestar, Kate Bishop, Dracula, Hellstorm, Nico Minoru, Karolina Dean, Bushmaster (He was so awesome in Luke Cage I cant believe you guys skipped over him), and Mr. Negative.

There is always more that I would want, but these are a few that I think should be added soon. Many of them would be filling gaps story wise (Dracula, T-Ray, Bushmaster), adding representation (Jubilee, Dust, Nico Minoru, Mr. Negative, Bushmaster) Or would be adding in teams or groups that you haven't started adding yet (The Runaways, Excalibur) or that you could build more on (like how Hellstorm and Nico are both on Dr Strange's Supernatural Avengers alongside Scarlet Witch, Voodoo, Magick and a few others.)

Signature Ability
No Peace: Malekith believes that war is his purpose in life and will not allow peace, Malekith gains 1 extra buff if the opponent has no power when his 5 second buff timer ends

Passive
Malekith possesses enhanced physical prowess, every 5 seconds(with a timer to show how long you have left) he will gain one of these buffs furry, armor up, or power gain at random that will last 6 seconds each. Furry grants a burst of X damage, Armor up increases armor rating by X, and power gain grants 1 bar of power every 6 seconds, extend the time that all buffs last by 1 second for every 2 buff on Malekith max 6 second increase.

Any time Malekith nullifies any of the following buffs he gains it and it doubles in potency if he placed the buff on the opponent, furry, armor up, power gain, prowess, and regeneration all buffs taken last 6 seconds. Received limite removed when buffs are stolen(example gain half a bar of power when received will instead be every 6 seconds).

If the opponent's special does not make contact, refresh all buffs on both the opponent and Malekith.

Spells
As a Dark Elf Malekith has many different spells, which are as follows:

Teleport: Removes a furry buff from Malekith and replaces it with a 100% chance to evade the next attack if not blocking does not stack.

Energy Projection: Removes a power gain buff from Malekith and places a power lock debuff on the opponent lasting 6 seconds.

physical malleability: Remove an armor up and replace it with a permanent prowess buff that increases special attack damage by 100%.

Flight(Mist form): Removes a furry and an armor up from Malekith and replaces it with a mist form buff that lasts 6 seconds and causes all incoming attacks to miss.

Illusions: Removes an armor up and a power gain buff and places a taunt on the opponent that lasts 6 seconds increasing their chance of using a special attack by 80%.

Manipulation: Remove 1 prowess and places a downgrade debuff on the opponent that reduces special damage by 95% and stays until the opponent uses a special attack(max stack 1)

Casting
To cast a Spell Malekith uses two medium attacks in a row to select the spell then uses a heavy to cast(does not have to make contact) buffs are needed to Cast Spells.

Heavy Attack makes contact
If a heavy attack makes contact, place 1 permanent furry, armor up, power gain, prowess, or regeneration on the opponent. Furry grants a burst of 750 damage. Armor up increases armor rating by 1250. power gain grants a half a bar of power when received. Prowess gain 50% increased special damage. Regeneration heals 890.14 health when received.

After Special Attack
All buffs on the opponent are nullified, if 1 or more buffs are nullified deal X damage per buff removed, if 3 or more refresh all buffs and debuffs on the opponent and Malekith, if 5 are removed power drain half of the opponents current power.

Special 1
Malekith slashes his sword to push the opponent back then teleports in front of them doing a multi-slash then he jumps back.

If the opponent has any buffs at the start of this attack they are granted no power from this attack.

Special 2
Malekith goes into his mist form manipulating his own cells he uses them to create sharp rods that he fires at the opponent, he then flies forward into the opponent, glides into the air and comes crashing back down.

If the opponent is power locked this attack power drains all of the opponents power.

Special 3
Malekith calls forth all of his power causing the world to **** and change at his command, he creates waves that throw the opponent into the air, Malekith then uses energy projection to fire plasma beams at the opponent. After this he flies into the opponent taking them higher into the air and drops them onto the ground that he has transformed into spicks.

If Malekith has 5 or more unique buffs the opponent is stunned for 3 seconds at the end of this special and Malekith will deal only critical damage until the stun ends.
