Ægon monopoly

I am still a bit far from TB, I have done only 6.3 and am hoarding resources to move on, but I wanna ask you in advance: for an average, free2play person, can Abyss (or even LoL) be done without Ægon, without the expenses shooting up drastically? I don't have illusions that not having Ægon would make it less than couple thousands units more expensive, but is it realistically doable without too big of a grind (compared to the standard one of Ægon users)?

There are youtube vids from people who completed it without aegon. Colossus, ghost are options I know. Maybe void, if duped. Imiw with stealthy. I actually don't think I've seen any solo in abyss with r5 5* aegon.

Corvus is generally recognized as the next best collector option after aegon. Void is an alternative for lane clearing.

Although I'm yet to stare into the Abyss, from what I've seen Aegon is almost a necessity for exploring the Abyss. Completion you can get away with using other champs, but still Aegon seems to be the better and cheaper option. I've seen people do it without Aegon but it always seems more expensive comparatively speaking. Which is weird because I don't see him soloing fights in the Abyss.

However for Labyrinth, it's a different story. Aegon can get through it itemless with enough skill, but there are champs like Ghost, Colossus, G2099 and others I'm forgetting that can get through it just as effectively. So Aegon still is the best option, but is easily replaceable here.

I'm currently exploring the Abyss without Aegon.
Some fights may be harder, other's are easier. He surely would help something, but isn't necessary there, and other champions like Human Torch or Nick Fury are more valuable than him in some of the fights.

If I'm not mistaken stealthy and corvus are a good replacement to aegon for abyss easy path at least

Mauled

My initial clear of Abyss was done without Aegon and it cost me ~5500 units. I used Doom, Sym Supreme, NF, Corvus, CapIW.
The collector was awful but the path itself wasn’t quite so bad. If you have magneto he’s arguably the best solution for a lot of the champions in Abyss, though I can’t off the top of my head tell you how many of those are on the easy path.
