Umm...I am getting outsmarted by AI?

Sometimes the AI is really one step ahead of me and I feel like I have been outsmarted.

Perfect example: NC in this month side quest. I can see the AI getting smarter with every run (did 17 so far). First 10 tries he was shy, didnt block much and let me switch him to Swashbuckling. But slowly and steadily he was learning and adapting. Next trick he learnt was SP1 spam in Neyaphem, so that he evades a lot. I still managed to get him to Swashbuckling somehow tho, so he adapted again. And now he has perfected it: while in Meyaphem, spam SP1. Once you enter Swashbuckling, throw only SP3s. Once he enters that mode, he instantly becomes extremely passive and saves up to his sp3. Last time, he even threw one sp3 and then saved up for a second one without attacking even once. That boi is smarter than me and I am looking forward to seeing other tricks he has up his sleeve

Why are you not just sitting back and holding block so you can spam free L3s? Recharge is such a fun node to abuse since you never actually have to touch the opponent.

Which champ are you using? I just used parry heavy with warlock and ignored the recharge node and neyaphem mode altogether.
I have tried to do it by changing his mode but first of all when I hit him on the block he evades and loses his timer. Only way to change his mode is to throw sp1 on his block. Secondly it is too slow compared to the parry heavy method.

Ya Nightcrawler is a bit annoying. I can't comfortably charge my power without taking quite a bit of block damage. And he is so passive for some reason for me.

I am using Sentinel. Of course I hold block and recharge, but that has one small disadvantage: he can do that too, and I need him to throw his SP.

I've never had an issue. Usually if you hang back and hold block, NC will just sit there waving his sword at a distance. Most of the time the 'advanced' AI won't hold block anymore, ever since, ironically, they 'patched' the NC stance change exploit. Nowadays they just sit and wait for you to run in to block.

I always ignore the node and Parry/Heavy him with Archangel like 50% of the enemies there. Easy.

Aarkus is great for him. Can't evade when you have the coldsnap and INSANE power gain

I don't have video footage of this and I know it's not entirely related to the thread but for some reason I recently remember a Quake in arena "quaking" me and dexing me. I could have been tripping but I swear it happened once

This is what I do. I get my 3 neurotoxins and then I look at him smugly thinking "evade me now you little ......"

You can still switch Nightcrawlers stance. When he dashes back you have to dash back and throw a light.

I used sunspot . parry , two mediums , parry , stay in block, sp 1 in the stun ( his parry stun is long enough for that), parry , stay in block until sp 1 again. parry , two mediums at the end of the stun , parry , sp 2 .

The AI is definitely adapting, i did a fight in 6.4.3 with stun reflection using hype and I’d occasionally missfire the sp1 into a block. The moment after they would immediately dash into me and clip me, normally id have enough time and distance to get away

One champ for everyone but rouge iceman, and uc...AA. Nc just melts after a few parry heavys, as does anyone else who bleeds, with exception to the above mentioned champs. Really easy quest, great rewards.

CAIW. spam heavies, hold block and charge to a sp2 or sp3. Repeat until you win the game.

I came to see if they'd changed the AI this half. NC is a pain now, was pretty easy in the 1st half but now he's doing that annoying Mordo cycle of evade, hold block while he gains power then attacking everytime I try to charge a heavy 🙄

Just a friendly reminder guys, I am not having troubles with that fight, I soloed all 20 legendary runs with Sentinel, although some were a bit clutch. My sole point is, that I enjoy watching the AI learn
