Everybody's favourite Balance Designer and sick beast of a gamer, Kabam John, has taken some time to jot down some thoughts on Cavalier Difficulty, what we've seen so far, and what's to come in the future! For tons of players like me who made our rank up decisions based upon Event Quest nodes that up until now always reoccurred each month (ie Buffed Up, Diss Track, etc.) will Kabam being providing any rank down gems?

In my opinion, this would be greatly appreciated by the player base and only fair for our hard work ranking up champs that could tackle the nodes you’re now putting on the back burner.

Lol no. There are still tons of places your going to find diss track and buffed up.

That's not true. There were many poeple complaining about the previous nodes getting boring and stale and wanted new nodes.

How many ? Just a few arrogant top class player who they claim as end game players wtih deep roster, who can max somebody medioker like iron patriot to rank 5

Kabam cant try to make them special treatment, and ignore everybody opinion else outside them

Much more base player demand increased rewards

This is awful. You just made different champs useful after we've all ranked the ones that used to work. Now we're all SOL.

I think this is the fairest complaint I can think of. Rank ups were made on the current t set of nodes. I’d be really up set if I was a Cav player who finally got to explore EQ only to be told I need to start ranking up a different set of champs. Poor form

There was someone crying about disstrack and biohazard being "nightmare nodes" like a day or two ago here. People with small rosters have been boo hooing about disstrack and buffed up since they introduced the side quest tests. Now they've changed the nodes and it's just a different set of people crying about it.

No matter what they do it's just a bunch of whiny people moaning about stuff. People said the rewards weren't worth the time. They made it much faster. Still all you hear is "but but but the rewards".

This stuff is mind numbingly easy and boring guys. The constant crying about everything is really old.

Explain how this makes sense:

Kabam: "We love seeing videos of Angela dealing over 20,000 damage on a medium. We won't be changing that."
Also Kabam: We're changing cosmic so champions like Angela won't be doing over 20,000 damage on a medium.

Bruh, but other who has many armor break can do damage like Angela used to be, they don't nerf the node, just change the champs who 'll benefit it

So if you ranked up champions like Angela for these events thinking (hoping) Kabam wouldn't screw you over, your ****. I expect nothing less

But more champs will be available for this cosmic cav eq snce they remove buffed up, Angela still do a thing or 2, she just don't get the advantage, also they lots of champs can have that advantage like corvus,cull, medusa,... which are still have many rank up for and play even outside cav quest.

Bunch of guys who are only interested in the rewards and not the experience. Seriously what do you all play this game for?
This is not a Nintendo game from the 80's where the thrill was to beat the levels, those games had an ending and did not require you to obtain rare materials to increase the effectiveness of a character.

Even do this game has Role Playing game principals and ideals, it still is nothing close to those games, nor it should, since, again those games have an ending and this doesn't, which is part of the allure, having a continuous story and lore in it (even do a good amount of people could care less about that)

So, I know you have no interest in an answer cause clearly you and other individuals like you (most famously a certain bespectacled and follicly challenged top player) LOVE difficulty just for the experience and for the enjoyment that brings, rewards mean nothing, however the player base is not the 1000 elite players in top top alliances in the game, of which a handful are “popular”. The player base consists of average day to day players, and the average player likes to be rewarded so...

They can have the chance to get better champions, increase their level and their abilities, because that is satisfying to the great majority of the player base, which is not the elite, but the mid tier player of this game. So, as hard as this seems to be for you to understand, if you took a second to think about the majority, instead of the minority, you would understand this.

Feel free to use whatever passive-aggressive, condescending and mockingly sarcastic remarks and dismissive snide one liners to brush aside my clearly unfounded and cognitively impaired arguments.

Which is why the majority will quit because their sole motivation is rewards and not the experience.

Gathering rewards is important, but if that’s a players’ end goal, then they will get disenchanted as they progress because it simply takes more time to design a game than to play through it.

Also, Kabam didn’t make it more difficult. They just changed the nodes to make it more interesting. The old ones were getting boring.

I think with where Kabam were going with this, you were only needed to rank up your 4 stars for this quest. It's perfectly doable with them. If you wasted resources on 5 stars and 6 stars for this quest, then that's on you.

With the new nodes Kabam insists that I rank up new champs such as civil warrior, massacre, NT, etc but remain stingy as ever with giving out t2a, t1a, t4cc and iso. If you insist on us diversifying our rosters then stop being stingy with resources

A seemingly equal fair and unfair exchange between the old and the new nodes this might be, the least of what I would have really loved to see is something about the conversion of the 10% t5cc crystal into a selector after doing exploration.

I mean you only need to rank up 2 or 3 champs to complete the whole specific class quest, even only 1 if you good enough, it's not like you have to rank up a whole team anyway.

The reward improvement is long overdue. Cavalier difficulty is a huge chore. Changing the buffs is cool, but you need to give people an incentive to actually care.

Yeah big papa mike said true strike,true accuracy,locked on, above 5 tactical charges all count. If evade is prevented by skill champ, get furies. Falcon best option as you can get his personal cruelties too when evade of champ fails.

Edit:- I wanna rank up falcon for the big numbers but no guarantee that next time they change the cav eq nodes he'll be viable

And there’s my issues with people complaining.
You’re acting like falcon isn’t viable anywhere else in the game.
He sort of worked (albeit very slowly) for the current set of CavEQ nodes.
He will work for the next set of CavEQ nodes.
He has many uses throughout act 6 and 7 exploration.
So tell me more about why a versatile champ such as falcon will be useless when the nodes change again?

Elsa does more than enough as skill champ for me. I'd rather give the t1a to my take archangel,void and guardian to r5 or my iabom to r4. I love falcon but i'd rather rank up a few other champs i find fun to play just my opinion

But he is viable, and has utility that elsa does not, so he’s not a waste of resources. Might not be the one you want to rank up at this moment in time, and that’s fine, but if you did and the nodes changed, it wouldn’t be a waste.

That’s on you. No one asked you to rank based on Cav EQ. And please don’t tell me you spent T2A instead of Rank Up gems on those rank ups.

I think the issue cavalier difficulty has is it isn't particularly clear who it is for. The endgame thronebreaker level players have the size and depth of roster to do 5 high level champs of each class in a team + boss counters ,which whilst not a requirement makes it substantially easier, are too high level to find the rewards exciting. The lower early cav end of players find the rewards exciting as their is a lot of t5b and t2a compared to uncollected to help to establish a strong 5/65 roster, however to get them they need roster depth for some of the niche stuff like global biohazard or diss track nodes. Cav difficulty was a request of the community for a while but because it was only released very close to thronebreaker title, the endgame level players had moved beyond what the early cavs needed and since we don't have thronebreaker monthly EQ they end up doing the highest difficulty available for sub-par (for their level) rewards. so unhappy endgamers, but to make sure that endgame players have something to do they they are continuing to tune the nodes to favour depth of roster over skill adding in mechanics like evade and healing as supposed to stuff that is skill based, to create end-game content which leaves the average player in need of te rewards struggling.

This is why I think cav should be tuned to be inclusive allowing cav players to build up rosters as they transition to endgame players in readiness for niche stuff in act 6 exploration and future variants, and then having thronebreaker difficulty on a monthly basis with higher level rewards and the similar niche nodes to fit the depth of roster endgame players have, as well as higher health and just difficult champions to provide a monthly endgame level challenge for the highest level rewards in game such a 25% T5cc selector for 100% or some such.

finally have this difficulty as breaker of thrones as in for act 6 completion but not r3 6* so that late cav players have better access to t5cc and could perhaps do initial completion of this endgame challenge with some item use to get a say 10% selector and help build them towards eventually becoming throne-breaker

I was praying each path node would of changed instead of a full quest node change as its main reason i dont 100% cav as dealing same node every month glad its getting a change of node so keeps entertaining but for me personally after a few months again that node be like what we have now we need change of nodes each month and each path

This logic really don't make sense to me this move actually seems like more work, don't understand how this will reduce time, if you want to reduce time then make the path shorter like in Chapter 3 of the quest make it 5 path instead of like 7/8, fighting the same boss 7 or 8 times just gets boring after a while. This is like a company saying we are going to increase your work load but your pay( rewards) will stay the same. I will wait to see how the quest plays out but i just can't see how this will save time or be less time consuming it actually seem more difficult and less rewarding and more time consuming. anyway thanks for always trying to make the game better i wish the bugs(omega Red lol) received the same attention.
