Recovery of mastery carbonadium core not working?

Am I missing something, here? I recovered my offensive masteries after opening Despair, which looks unlocked, but it’s saying I need to buy another Carbonadium core to open it again. I’m pretty sure I opened it with 2 Cd. cores initially, but maybe I’m missing something or misremembering which masteries I’ve opened.

Thanks for any assistance. I don’t want to spend 550U on a Cd. core if I don’t need to- saving for July event.

You don’t recover any mastery cores. The ones you have used is still used on the unlocked mastery you used them to unlock in the first place.

Each progressive level on all the nodes in that Despair tree require additional Cores for each next Level.

You maintained your unlocked status for Level-1, but need more to unlock level-2.

@SummonerNR Thanks. I read the screen as requiring another core to in order to achieve level 1 once again, not that it was already unlocked.
I guess I thought I t looked locked because of the red font, rather than the typical green. 🙄.
