The thing is it’s basically blades regen but worse. Less reliable and still won’t change the tide if you get hit by a act 6/7 boss. I would put the new hood as the new blade imo.

Here's a question. If it wasn't for The Champion in 6.2, would people be as bothered?
Definitely.
I haven't even reached The Champion on 6.2; I wasn't even aware he was popular for that. I had Hood ranked and used him as a prominent member of my roster for buff suppression. His damage output was completely incidental.
Now they've nerfed all of his following utilities:
the power drain on his sig ability his stagger duration his Hex effectiveness (removing Fate Seal, as well as adding variability to its application) the length of his invisibility buff (and off-buff cycle) the miss chance of his invisibility his ability to refresh debuffs with heavy attacks AND introduced a limited (and sometimes unreliable) mechanic
.... all in the name of some added damage, which isn't even something Hood was really about anyway.
They may have made him statistically better in an average fight in an arena or whatever. But that doesn't make him more useful. They've stripped him of the core utility that gave him purpose.
I've been playing with his update this afternoon, and he's been basically rendered useless to my team. I'd rank him down in a heartbeat, if given the opportunity.
Well, after reading all of this, it seems like the changes are nice for what they are (i.e. excellent regen and stagger machine), but the loss of the fate seal will never be ok with many. Kabam needs to be petitioned to put the fate seal back on the SP2. Then he competes almost directly with BWCV and everyone is happy, hopefully.
Regardless, BWCV will remain the slightly better champ in the end due to immunities, and I think that is fair for an update. The Hood shouldn’t be top 3, but he can be top 5-10.
345 for each expired Stagger, not per Critical Hit.
For low buff opponents, you only heal when your stagger times out after 5 seconds (they don't stack). Then you have to Crit again and wait again. My 5/65 164 Hood has a Crit rate of 23.9% ( = lousy Crit rate)
Critical Hits
100% chance to inflict a non-stacking Stagger Passive lasting 5 seconds. When a Staggered opponent gains a Buff, that Buff and all Buffs triggered at the same time are Nullified. When this Stagger ends, it inflicts 345.15 direct damage on the opponent and heals The Hood for a matching amount.
I think when you apply a new stagger ( aka crit) this is reading as one ending and another starting. I tested this against winter soilder
Not per crit. Per stagger expired (and reapplied atm). You need to have active stagger to reapply it. If you only hit one critical hit per 5 second, it's pretty much what it used to be. Also now you kinda have to use that lame holding block to go invis, wich means more block damage. His regen is not even close to sorceress, BWCV, gr or even dorm.
😂 ........just....,...😂
6* r2 hood, 32k hp full, 375 heal on stagger. It's 1% only. Bp 3700, or 65%. Sorceress - heals based on damage blocked. BWCV - heals based on sp2 damage. Gr - 440 hp heal of 16k max per hit (almost 3%, no rng). Magik - heals back all damage taken while in limbo. With high sig up most of the time. Morningstar ramped - 20% regen 50% of damage in every hit. Or 10% of all damage dealt. Mojo - 3% of missing health on every prompt activation His regen is ok. Yes, it may seem high vs rol ws, but if you try it in some variant for example, where one hit in block will deal 1k damage or 300 in parry, you will probably see it's only there to compensate for his block damage. Multi hit projectile sp may easily cost about 3-5k. And you opponent will have 200-400k hp. And you won't be as aggressive as in rol, as you need to bait sps to load those bullets
They just need to give rank down tickets and move on. Because next month we have more champs coming, and then the month after that. All of these buffs are good for the game

Along with A commitment to hand out rank down tickets for any other future champ change where core utility is removed for no reason.

Rank down tickets are on a champ by champ basis. Every buff they have brought to us has been successful including the Hood buff. Sure there was a small group of players that were affected they can get their RD2, but that sets a dangerous precedent that every champ buffed or rebalanced deserves a rank down tickets. It was years before people stop screaming RDT for everything.
Most you tubers I have seen actually are enjoying the new hood, some are not, but there are a ton more people who just got present because hood can do more than he use to overall , outside of fate seal.

I would say its much more comparable to x23s regen because it depends on you hitting into the opponent. Blade's regen costs power and it can only bring you up to 70%. Overall I think hoods regen is better just because you dont have to go out of your way to use it. If hoods new regen is not a bug, then I'm taking him to r2 without hesitation. Thats how good it is imo

I don’t remember saying all champIon changes should result in RDTs... Oh that’s right, it’s because I didn’t. I said when core utility is removed like in this case here with hood.

I disagree. His regen scales with attack, so if you run suicides, it drastically increases. My r1 regens 400 per crit, which is almost 2% of his hp. It isn't a lot on its own, but it certainly adds up well. In my testing, even with the bleed and recoil from suicides, I've comfortably ended normal lengthed fights with 20-25% more than I started. It's not as good as bwcv, but its one of the best regens in the mystic class for sure.
Damage is soo insane it took Seatin 189 hits to ko winter soldier That is with a 200k burst.
Use to take closer to 500 hits, heck of an improvement. Take your rank down ticket and move on, its over man, he is changed. if he gets a fate seal so be it. It’s a game to me , and I always like to find new solutions and old champs, I’m happy it strengthened my roster. I’m sad you no longer have niche champion, that you used all the time and no longer is viable. I wonder if Kabam was able to pull the curtain behind how many times a champ got used what would the numbers say. Until then no point of having the discussion because we clearly have not changed our mind in the last 24 hours. Leave it be man.

Atleast be subtle with your trolling.
Oh wait, you actually don’t?
See how this works?
