When (not who) to rank 5 a 4*?

With T4CC being so difficult to collect, I am thinking instead of when to rank 5 the 4*?

How much more value will a rank 5 bring to the game and how to decide when it is going to be a real game changer?

In my opinion it gives you very much if the champion is god-like (Gwen, SL, ..) and you didn't have much (good) 5*'s.

With 5/50's you can master much more content in this game, than with medium 5* 3/35.

for God-tier champs that are awesome without being awaken, go ahead with the level up & rank up as long as you have the resources, since you can put them into good use right away, making better progress

for God-tier champs that are awesome ONLY after being awaken (else they are just mediocre), if you can afford to wait and not in urgent need of using 5/50 champ (e.g. to clear some contents), then feel free to hold on for a little while, since you can't predict which God-tier champ (of the same class) will get awakened first.

One good example is, say you saved up 3x mutant T4cc for bleed+regen mutant champs, which means your top 2 choices are Wolverine & X23, but you can only afford to rank up 1 of them to 5/50. Someone tested that in long match, both are very comparable (many, including myself have the perception that Wolverine's regen is more reliable, while X23's bleed is more powerful, but someone has compared side by side that in long fight, both ended up almost the same), in the case when both your 4/40 wolverine & X23 are still not awaken, and you already have Gwenpool or Angela or Drax or Black Panther for bleed damage, you are probably not in a rush, once one of them got awaken, u can then level up the awakened one right away.

In my case, my Wolverine 4/40 is NOT awaken, but my X23 4/4/ is awaken, and I have enough T4cc and T4b, I'll most likely be leveling up my X23 to 5/50 soon without further delay

of course this is just one person's opinion, may or may not work well in your situation or meet your need
