Shouldn't champs immune to AAR also be immune to Domino's Critical Failure?

I don't know if I'm missing something, but shouldn't champions like Longshot , Archangel and Mordo not take critical failure damage since their abilities won't fail to trigger? And yet both of them still take critical failure. The weird thing, is that none of their abilities fail, all of them work as normal. Can anyone clear this up for me, I'd really appreciate it.

    Critical failure happens when something and each of those examples could fail ie mordos sp1 stun, aa heavy bleed, and long shots lucky

    Oh I thought Critical failure only happened when abilities failed to trigger because of Domino lowering your ability accuracy by 15%
