Alliance wars bugged(nothing related to season rewards)

I didn't place any defenders for alliance war match making phase. Still today i was able to join alliance war without even placing defenders. Is this literally a bug?

Yeah you can join attack even if you don’t place defence

This was always allowed, if you don't join defence and there is empty spot in bg you can join attack.

It shows that if the bg is full or you joined the ally late, not if you were already in the ally and just didn’t place
