Variant 7 Is Bad

It's really a let down. Initial clear is easy but not really fun, then most the rest is deliberately annoying fights/nodes. They know what's enjoyable and what isn't and unfortunately they still released this.. It's just not good content.

The only “bad” thing is the rank up gems still being 2017 restricted...besides that, it’s nothing uniquely difficult so far.

I'm on the last chapter, and will finish it with very minimal resources. But there are fights that require specific champs/counters that aren't available due to the champ restrictions. That, and just super annoying node combos, like counter strike and bubble shield, with a bunch of champs that have high hit count specials, including Nick Fury, as well as not being able to bring a mutant.. There are plenty of other examples too.

Again, I'm not having a hard time with it (tho I'm sure a lot of people are), it's not about difficulty, it's just not fun, and was seemingly designed that way. Everyone will have their opinion, and I know how this forum gets... This is just my opinion.

I agree with that as well. And it's not about the difficulty for me, I'm not having any problems with it, it's just not fun. A lot of the paths are just annoying to drudge through..

The whole thing is too easy. They need to include a 3rd higher difficulty.

I personally think the difficulty is appropriate to the rewards, maybe even a little too difficult for the rewards really.. but I don't think it's too hard, just kinda annoying and not fun.

After act 6, variant is a blissful experience.

Yeah, it sucks having to think outside the box and challenge yourself a bit by looking at champs that aren't always used. Super annoying.

Has nothing to do with that. That can, and has been, achieved in much more enjoyable content. For the record, I've been playing this game since it came out, and have completed nearly every inch of content. Variant 7 fell very short on the enjoyability scale for me. But you're also entitled to your opinion, and I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I mean it sounds exactly like you're saying it has everything to do with it. You just completed you don't have specific champs for fights because of restrictions.

That's the whole point of the champ restrictions is finding a way to do the fights differently than we normally do. I think it's great they did the class restrictions. As much as I don't want too, I always find myself falling back into using the same champs for all fights. I like remembering to use my full roster or forgotten ranked up champs.

They wouldn’t make fights that you’re not allowed to bring in the only counter. There is always some counter even if it’s not what first comes to mind.

I’d like to know which fights are annoying? I went through all of it without many issues. I just used my brain a bit and realized “ok this and this will work I don’t need to ghost, quake my way through it”

Not at all, and I actually do all types of quests with unconventional champs just to use them and approach fights differently. I agree, that's fun, but not necessarily when it's forced. Especially for people that don't have the roster some of us do, but I get that this is permanent content, and it's meant to be progressed through as players roster's progress. But again, it's not just champ restrictions, but some nodes/node combos, paired with restrictions in some cases, etc.., and just certain things I noticed throughout it that seemed intentionally annoying. Basically, I either have fun through content or get bored or annoyed through content, unfortunately for me it was the latter with V7. But honestly, I'm glad I'm in the minority here, and I'm genuinely glad y'all enjoyed it.
