It's just a bug that Kabam needs to fix : in arenas, the Prof X/Iceman or Magneto (both), the mental barrier lasts forever. This is not a death match.
To come back to the original question, we need to do more points than before but people forget that you cannot compare the 2 systems in terms of points, but you have to look at the number of matches you have to do to get the same units. That being said, this new system is terrible for people that don't have much 6*s in their roster. Kabam, you should lower the points needed for the first milestones.

That looks like a bug currently occurring when Prof X is synergised on the opposing team with either Red Mags, White Mags, or Iceman. Not a death match.
I used to go for the 3* featured champs & use up some 3* boosts. Was a quick & easy grind. Now I have to get over 6mil. Yes I can use 5 & 6 stars but it will take much, much longer so I won't bother.
Looked at and tried new arenas definitely can say that just like a lot of other players I know that arenas is not worth grinding anymore. My own experience from past arenas to new arenas the milestone alone doesn't match the lost units and battlechips for the score needed smh... players will overall lose out on resources that they once relied upon, either be gold or units and some might even miss out on shards to get Champs duped for class ISO-8 again thought process of changing arenas was positive but the finished product that's actually out was a crash and burn.
The arena is pretty challenging for those that do not have a strong 6 star lineup! I can’t say I’m a fan. The milestones are a little too much. Dislike Kabam!
For anyone who is not a whale or has a huge roster, this is horrible. I am losing units to farm while I try to get uncollected with the new summoner trials and for the new 6 star arenas, it is way harder to get the characters you want. Please go back to the way it was.
New layout is good. and that is IT. Noting else can objectively be looked at as improvement for majority of players. full stop.
Seems to be created in the following way: FTP = work harder, play more for less PTW = awesome changes...
is goal of the game to chase away the players and go bust?? if so it is on a good track as every change seems to be "with good spirit and hopes to improve" but yet "somehow" always end up being against the majority of the player base... check the stats and what % of players are ftp and what are payers.... no game can survive without FTP players as simple as that and as soon as any game goes towards pay to win logic it just goes down.
• Get rid of death matches • Restructure the points each star level champion gets (increase lower star points, decrease higher star points) • Put all champs on the same refresh timer (6 hours?) Make it more about time/grind on a more level field rather than the rich just get richer...
I can’t afford to spend all this time in arena, my roster doesn’t consist of 75 6* heroes. I used to be able to run a couple rounds of my 4-5-6* champs and pull in 500 units every few days. Now it’s going to take a ton of time and effort more than double to get the units. It would be better for me to get a higher paying real world job and just give Kabam $100 a week for an Odin of units and I’m not trying to be anti-Kabam with this post. It’s the truth I mean someone can literally go earn $100 in a few hours or they can earn 60 units in a few hrs in these new arenas. The throne breaker crystals would help “if” the units drop rate was higher this could potentially be the best update to arenas ever. But all I’ve seen from them is gold so far on my end. It’s nice to earn 6* champs in the new arenas but keep in mind a pure refresh grind to earn them for a smaller roster is around $800. After 7 years I am genuinely thinking about walking away from the game. I can’t afford it. I love this game and I have logged more hours than anyone possibly should. I have gone and given the company more way money than I have any other company in the video game industry. I just wish there was a way I could help make it better for everyday users like me who are burnt out trying to get more out the game everyday.

I think that way everyone is pretty happy and rosters of any rarity will be useful.
The new format is much more work for less reward (units) it needs to be just as rewarding as the old arena or more rewarding.
It would also be nice to see a buff on the battle chip crystals maybe adding a cavalier one?
I like the direction but the implementation is bad
Our work input has been doubled and now either we have 100 6 stars or we cant grind anymore
I understand u dont want to give us more but give us the same for same work as we had before
And both 6 star arenas cant be maxed at 16.5 mil with 100 6 stars during full period…that means we have to spend to grind units?makes no sense to me
what do you mean makes no sense? the goal of the game is to spend units (from Kabam perspective) more units spent more you will buy or grind for units hence more time in the game. They lock you in the loop ...
As for me, I am an early Cavalier player. I have about 11 6*s and a few couple of maxed 5*s or 5* rank 4s. The milestone required to get a featured 4* is now 9M.. Which is a lot for me. I'd need to play all day and night on each three days to get there, that is.... Not quite worth my time. I mean., it's a four star that won't be that much relevant to me if not for just the synergies.
Still, I tried out to see how much convenient it is now to get a new Four Star Champion on this new arena format. And triggered a Death Match on the 23rd or the 24th win streak by my team rating of about 10k (about 3.3k for each champs : 2 5*s , 1 4* , no sandbagging). And got a team that has rating of 50K (about 18k each) to fight against. Not a ninja player , lost the score multiplyer as expected.. And lost the interest for playing too.
Don't know what kinda feedback you're expecting.. But I guess there are definitely some issues that requires some tune ups.
If you were doing the old 4 star featured arena like I was, be advised there is no middle ground arena offering after the update. The same can be said for the old summoner trials. For clarification purposes, the old summoner trials and 4 star basic arenas were merged into one arena. The old 5 star featured arena was split into two 6 star featured arenas. The 3 star basic and 4 star featured arenas are no longer offered. The new summoner trials and 6 star featured arenas are the present and the future. Upgrade your roster to have a bunch of higher PI rated champs if you never played in the old 4 star basic and 5 star featured arenas since the baseline PI of champs should be similar in the new arenas.
Not happy at all with this new arena system. Without a stocked 6* roster it’s way more grinding just to get same amount of resources. Feels like we small to mid tier player needs to quit playing tbh.
The new arenas are too top heavy. 5 star Champs don't get enough points and face too many uphill battles against 6 star opponents. As a casual player, but heavy grinder, I will just stop doing areas now and play less if the status quo remains. That is just a fact, I am happy to have more free time for other endeavors.
I like the new arenas but for a person like myself I wouldn't be able to grind both arenas due to not enough 6*s, I think either getting more points for 6*s or lowering the time it takes for them to come back would help a lot.
