RIP Pacify mastery ..

I would like to say a few lines to this absolute trooper.

The pacify mastery has remained a staple of my mastery builds over the years. I would recommend it to everyone and I maxed on my alt account as well as soon as I got units.

I always thought that 30% was useful but with all the new nodes I have started to realize that the AAR was really potent as it shuts down nodes so many times that it is unreal.

However, with a sad heart, I am taking all points away from it as Kabam has decided to code the positive aspects of nodes on the opponents. For example, Bullet time and Mercy paths were a nightmare with this mastery. Then you have all the cav EQ nodes that keep failing because of it. I waited a full year to see if they learn something but nope, 7.2 is full of nodes whose positive aspects are shut down by pacify.

Pacify, you served me well... but it is time to move on.

I recommend everyone to drop it to have a peaceful gaming experience now as Kabam will not learn to properly code.

I want to use Max PAcfy for Magneto to get 100% AAR. But i cannot . It is very depressed

It has become a nightmare to fight the flux dispersal node. Especially in Variant 7 which places passive disorient when you parry. I need to parry and heavy multiple times to reset the counter. But, I don't want to remove the mastery because the AAR is useful for many champs. If and when mastery changes becomes easier and free or when Kabam decides to alter the interactions, it will become better.

I stopped running it a long time ago, when nodes started being more 2 sided rather than just simple stuff that generally made things harder

No difference with fighting Magik and Dorm tbh. Could be champ selection and playstyle that makes up for it.

What I didn’t like about Pacify initially was that 30% chance, as high as it sounds, make fights unpredictable. And when doing harder content, unpredictability can really throw your plan off.

(With regards to Mag’s AAR against Metal, never noticed an issue with it. Just need to keep in mind that it can fail sometimes.)

I noticed it this month event quest when I first encountered bullet time node against Spiderman and at parry he wasn't gaining evade charges.
Just annoying I can say!

I used to run max pacify and petrify until I realized I'm actually much better off without any points in either of them.

Pacify just interacts with and messes up too many things. Petrify seemed really nice at first glance until I realized I actually prefer the enemy to gain power at a normal rate so that I could have more openings to attack (after evading specials - which are more frequent without petrify active).

As much as players don't want it to be the case, they're just going to have to deal with the fact that AAR is a double edged sword and isn't wanted in all situations. Changing that just doesn't make sense when things like nodes are basically treated like champion abilities during a fight. If AAR can shut down troublesome nodes and abilities, it only makes sense that I can potentially shut down beneficial interactions as well

The pacify description is misleading, to an extent. It says it reduces enemy AA. It doesn’t reference nodes (positive or negative). It’s understandable that a player would approach a node that only affects the player and only affects positively would believe the mastery wouldn’t affect it.

Things I would’ve liked:

A better description or a statement that nodes are included.

Or nodes to be programmed as attacker nodes that are not governed by enemy AA. Prolly too late for this.

So yeah, we all know what the drill is at this point, but better in-game descriptions could reduce the number of players who get frustrated in early runs at these nodes.

I forgot about the Magneto interaction! Love the -100% AAR on parry-heavies .. never procs protect ...

That is one of the reasons I am not taking the mastery out. The interaction with bw, electra and some skill champs with disorient makes it worth the hassle. Stunning defender just before some node activation shuts down the node permanently in some cases.
I won't ever take petrify away since I love running caiw and watching them melt from all the debuffs.😂

If anything, the failure for some things to proc instead teaches me to drag fights out when I have to and not simply breeze through. In wars and content, not everything will always go your way, and you sometimes have to play to make something work. For me, Pacify is still great in tons of situations. Couple that with my cheap butt, and I will continue to let it serve me well. If there's hiccups, that just comes with the territory. Willpower is bad against Warlock, but I'll still keep that around.

You can’t separate node effects to be “beneficial” or “detrimental” to players and code them separately. It just doesn’t make sense game wise.

(Let me give you an example, a “Poison” node is detrimental to most champs but beneficial to iAbom. So how do you code it?

Or how about Warlock taking Biohazard with OGV/G99 synergy? For scenarios as such, a “detrimental” node becomes “beneficial”. See the issue?)

Always has been is no good argument. If OPs point is not valid, why you think Kabam increase AAR in Mutant eq?why kabam make weak in the knees node immune to aar?

very good point. but these are exceptional cases.like someone say, cav eq nodes are called class support buffs by Kabam itself. they help majority of champs and onlu negatively affect 1-2 champs. and superiority buffs in act 7 are also 99% beneficial. in fact i have not seen even one situation where it is bad. the intent of these nodes are clear

We all obviously work around it (or don't but that's on the proverbial you) but there are cases where Kabam has made a distinction in nodes, and I kind of wish masteries didn't get in the way of that.

completely shut down spite too. 50 buffs on me and no power gain

People who say "This is how AAR works" do we play the same game? Kabam can and have made nodes immune to AAR whenever they want or increased the ability accuracy. I don't know why they refused to do the same for the Cav nodes and only did it with the mutant node.
Pacify was especially worse with the tech node last month since it depended on parry.

Most with suicides on don’t really even put points in proficiencies besides parry/dex as you can’t fit all the mastery points for running MD while having more than 1 point in coag and things like despair / max deep wounds
