Finally awakened her today with the Iron Tomb Cavs. She wasn’t my initial choice, but I’ll be happy nonetheless. I really loved her back when she was introduced and would love to see her updated (I know it’s a full rework, but it’s essentially also an upgrade in the more general sense of the term) to match the ever-increasing demands of the contest.

Yeah man, as followers of The Queen, I already had Guilly classic at R2. And she's actually already a markedly better champion than Antman. So, while I don't understand how it happened, this is certainly great news. I already liked playing her in original form at R2. This may warrant that she joins The Queen at r3... Shall see.

I don't want to be "that guy", but I've already had a moment of anxiety regarding whether she keeps the abilities that are already good as well myself. Bleed damage, Life Steal and a fantastic sp3 (especially with MS synergy). These things all play well with my preferred mastery build (suicides and DW). Anyway, I'll just have faith and await the new, improved version. 🎉🪅

I really think this was a huge factor in the swing. Some amount of Antman voters saw that lead in the 6-way poll and assumed they had it in the bag, and so many of them didn’t follow through. Meanwhile, Guillotine voters saw they were at a substantial disadvantage and worked harder to get every vote they could.

If you learn anything from this, let it be that putting obstacles up for voting changes the results of that vote for many different reasons.

If you were participating in any of the online communities (the forums, the Reddit, twitter, etc) then you would know there was a narrative out there that said it was distinctly possible there were two camps: Antman, and everyone else. Everyone else split their vote in round one, but a lot of them could coalesce around whomever else was still around in round two, and the odds on favorite for the second spot was Guillotine. So Guillotine voters had hope that they would pull many of those voters to their side.

If you were not participating in any of those online communities and did not hear this discussion, you probably also didn't know how the vote came out. You just saw Ant man and Guillotine come up as the final round choices and there was no way to be discouraged by the first round tally. Either way, I voted Guillotine both times, and I thought there was a decent chance she would win in round two for a pretty simple reason: Guillotine is more fun to play than Antman.

People tend to vote on gut instinct not calculation: Antman almost certainly got a lot of the early vote not because of any calculation on usability or synergy, but simply because he had the most name recognition. In round one anyone could vote for anyone, and Antman is a visible MCU character. However, in round two votes were earned by arena grinding: that shifted the votes from being a completely open vote to being a vote decided by people who play the game more. And the deciding factor for people who play the game more was more likely going to be decided by gameplay, not name recognition. I thought it was 50/50 that the vote would either go to Antman to boost his strength as a synergy partner to Ghost, or to Guillotine as the champ people actually play more often. And in a vote across the playerbase, Guillotine probably held a significant advantage due to the fact that the Ghost trinity might be a popular high end player team, but the vast majority of players don't have those Ghost skills and don't construct such synergy teams when they play. There are vastly more casual players even among arena grinders than there are hard core Ghost aficionados, and they held the deciding votes.

Agreed. She should be an easy buff. Give her a nullify, a stagger, a values buff and add the crit bleeds to her basic kit (instead of purgatory synergy) and she’s good to go! 🙌🏽 (Just don’t touch that awakened/sig ability)

Also, hopefully they give her a reciprocal synergy with Purgatory that makes her a lot better too.

There’s should be some kind of transparency in the poll.
If they put a live tracker of who’s ahead in total votes then it would give a better picture.
Personally i feel Antman is a useless character in game since the day he was launched. Guillotine on the other hand is a decent average champ who has been used a lot in the past on certain nodes where regeneration needed to be reversed.

People don’t use either of them in current meta but yeah they carry antman sometimes in synergy. So I thought antman going to win considering people would think “he’s not just for the sake of synergy” and they can actually use him.

Anyways whatever kabam do we have to deal with it.

Yes ant man won the original poll, but there were more options on that particular poll and the majority of those whose champion were eliminated appear to have voted for Guilly, nothing really fishy about that

Hell no. I want her to be completely different mystic than most. The synergy is necessary, similar to how wolverine works, otherwise just remove synergies and add it to the champions kit. She should have prefights that each power her blade, implementing what utilities her soul mechanics give. Sorta like sorc surpeme, what ancestor she abides by to gain her power from.

I have a buddy who doesn’t participate in any community and did the arena and picked gully caused she looked cooler. Also I suspect because she is somewhat useable now , its easier to imagine what an improved version would look like.

If you were just trying to express the opinion that you preferred Ant Man to win the poll, calling the vote a deliberate and obvious fraud is a very roundabout way to express that opinion.
