What's the clipboard for in the last milestone of the resort. It says something about daily shards but I don't see where to collect the shards. Or is it u just get them all at the end? This event is very confusing to me.

It is to unlock the bonus shards objectives.

The event itself is structured with 98 days of daily objectives and 98 milestone rewards. So if you do every daily objective every single day you get every reward. Ordinarily, there wouldn't be any way to do anything else beyond that.

However, because there are exactly 98 days and exactly 98 milestone rewards, there's no grace days anywhere. If you miss one single day, you can't collect the 98th reward. Which is 500 units, and is a doozy to miss. If you do happen to miss, there's a way to buy yourself out of that problem. You can buy a milestone booster pack which gives you seven milestone points instantly. One was included in the Resort Pass Plus pack, and the game will offer them weekly throughout the event.

But suppose you buy one of those for insurance, and then don't miss any days? Then at the end of the event the last seven milestones will earn you no rewards. To compensate for this, Kabam added a special set of shard milestones that you unlock if and when you get the final 98th milestone. The clipboard is the item that unlocks them. After that, if you continue to complete daily objectives you will be earning some bonus shards. This only matters if you buy the milestone boosters or if you bought the Plus pack. If you didn't buy either of those, you can't get more than 98 milestones and thus this doesn't matter to you.

These shards are not intended to be special rewards you're supposed to chase after. They are just a consolation prize for people who buy the boosters but then don't need those extra milestone points. Or for people who are compelled to buy everything in sight.

No, you aren't going to find a screenshot of Kabam admitting RNG is reliant on player inventory, you're going to find a screenshot from the old knowledgebase that misinterprets something written about random crystals. This has come up many times before.

And I'll bet you haven't read that patent either. You probably just watched some video where someone made wild claims based on just reading the patent title. If you actually read the patent, you'd know that:

1. The patent clearly was written by someone who was thinking about games that function more like traditional MMOs than MCOC. That doesn't mean the patent can't be applied to MCOC, but it clearly wasn't a use case at the time the patent was written.

2. The patent explicitly states within both its explanation and within its claims that its intent is to improve the odds of obtaining certain items when the game detects that a user's spending has either decreased from its normal level or decreased below some critical threshold. So this patent, even if it was applied to MCOC, would not benefit whales. It would benefit players who slowed down their spending, and only while that spending was slowed, with the intent to encourage the player to spend more.

3. I don't know why this is something that has to be pointed out, but apparently this is just too simple for the conspiracy nuts that continue to perpetuate this silliness. You can only encourage people to spend more by improving their lootboxes IF YOU TELL THEM YOU ARE IMPROVING THEIR LOOTBOXES. This does not work IF YOU LIE TO THEM AND CLAIM THE LOOTBOXES AREN'T ACTUALLY IMPROVED.

The patent in question is a patent for a method for encouraging people to spend, by temporarily improving their lootbox odds if the game detects their spending is dropping off. Why would a game operator deliberately lie about this happening? That's ludicrous. Only a completely crazy person would believe a game operator would deliberately rig their lootboxes, do so in a way designed to encourage people to spend more, and deliberately lie to them and say it wasn't happening so people wouldn't think the lootboxes were better, and thus not bother spending any more on them.

They also have "return to the game" offers that target players who are no longer playing. But that has nothing to do with the conspiracy theory that the game rigs crystal odds.

In order to rig crystal odds, the game needs to be extremely careful about how the reward tables are structured. Random number generators don't spit out Ghost's name. They spit out numbers. Those numbers correlate to the rewards we get via reward tables. Today a particular random number might generate Cable, but next month that same random number might generate Sasquatch because the crystal reward tables are constantly updated with new champions or champions entering certain pools.

If you make an off by one error in your reward tables, or accidentally change the order of the rewards in the reward table, then your attempt to rig the crystal to hand out more Iron Fists will start handing out more Quakes instead. So anyone doing something like this would have to have very specific and careful tools that manage the precise order and appearance of every reward that exists in the game.

MCOC is not such a game. Champions sometimes fail to show up in the crystals they are supposed to be in, because someone accidentally forgets to put them in there. Champions sometimes show up in the spinners when they are not supposed to, because someone accidentally puts them in there. It is all obviously done by hand, and obviously subject to lots of human error.

There is no way to rig crystals in such an environment. At least no way to do the kinds of things players keep claiming is happening.

Kabam are the ones who have decided the odds of rarities of champions in the first place and can easily increase or decrease the odds of a champion, this is already there in the game but it's not rigging since they mention the odds. Ex: the featured crystals where you have higher odds for the featured champions.

However they probably don't rig their crystals, it's counterproductive to their own interests and pushes players away. Plus, many people open a large amount of crystals in batches and most of them usually have an even spread. I'm not talking about 50 something crystals but hundreds and hundreds of them.

That's not true at all. I choose to believe that crystals aren't rigged, because I don't have proof stating that they do. But, it is possible to code. It has been said multiple times that each champ is assigned a number and a random number is chosen and we get the corresponding champion. Don't you think it's possible to have some numbers more times than others so that the chance of choosing the number is high? Kinda like having 8 black balls and 2 while balls in a bowl. The act of choosing the ball is random, but the chance of getting a black ball is high. But, no idea why they would do that though, we have many champs considered as "duds" and very few champs desired by players. So, we have a lot of black balls automatically in the bowl, they don't need to manipulate it at all.

Try waiting 18m to take fury to R5, that's how long it too to go from one t5cc to 6 all whilst having others flowing into the stash, try using all your tech iso to rank Red goblin to the draw King Groot back to back and groot shortly after, try using all.your cosmic iso to rank nebula to then get Iron man, HB and IP back to back and I can assure you I wait plenty to try and get the iso I need, but it never ever happens, only when I'm finished ranking the champ I'm working on, during the Red goblin rank up, I had 13 cosmics all needing leveled up, the only class I didn't get iso for, I've been playing this for 6 years and spent a fair bit of money before on dailys etc, I've had one 4 from GMs and 2 4s from Cavs, that's hundreds of crystals right there, don't even want to think about how much money overall has been wasted on this game and yeah I've stopped spending, as have the vast majority of my alliance and friends from previous allys, look at the grifting event, they allowed mass cheating to happen, kidded on it didn't ans carried on like nothings happened, because is money in their pocket, its their sole care in the game, they don't care about us in general, we're just income in their eyes and theres just that many stupid enough to buy into it that they have no motivation to fix bugs and improve things drastically, IMO things have been at their worst for several months and I've suffered through 12.0, my unit spend to try and do content is through the roof and it's killing my desire to play in general, every update without fail is riddled with faults, time restricted/limited entry Side quests demolish your reserves as the games in no state to be doing these and pulling out kills your milestone hopes, i use 2 phones to play, iPhone 11 for my alt and run an s21fe for my main, I've been told they are both requiring upgrading and that my 300mbps fibre isn't good enough, they literally say and do anything but take responsobility for performance issues, now I frequent the forums but I use twitter mostly for game updates etc, kashscam have had hundreds of tweets tagged, full on videos, pictures, slow motion replays etc of faults and I've not had one solitary response, they comment only on positive posts, never anything negative showing pauses, lag, random kicks, 2 hit combos, failed parry, dex/double dex not working, Fury running out with no LMD, domino vs domino in war causing the game to close, bloodstone not coldsnapping incinerate immune champs, Tigra not evading sps when she should, quake getting hit when she shouldn't, my latest is that she gets heavied whilst charging heavy? I don't parry with quake just dex and heavy and have used quake for 99% of my entire playing time, I could be here for hours stating the issues and they are never acknowledged, fixed or even compensated

If you go for plus You either get 7 day grace period in event logins or at the end you get 100 5* or 6* shards per day dependant on UC/Cav status, game breaking eh?

To amplify what Ricosco said above, if you buy the Pass Plus you get access to the resort event (Camp is free, Resort requires the pass) and the rewards within that event, and on top of that you get the next seven milestones immediately (that's the "Plus" part). In other words, if you have completed three daily milestones and then buy the Pass Plus package, the game will immediately autocomplete the next seven milestones - milestones four through ten. You can collect them now, and tomorrow when you do a daily objective you will be completing milestone eleven. As a result, you'll complete all 98 milestones earlier than normal, and if you miss a day you'll still be able to do all 98 because you have seven "extra" milestones in your pocket.

I am very familiar with battle passes

I knew right away when looking at and flipping through it what it was.

Besides the units the only thing that looked interesting to me was maybe the profile pic of deadpool in a hat.

I know your trying your own spin off.
But maybe to make it work have 4 different battle passes?
Battlepass 1- for uncollected & under
Battle pass 2 - for cavalier
Battle pass 3 - for throne breaker.

Additionally.
You want to make the object at the end very desirable.... when im about to buy a battle pass... i always go to the final teir to see what all that works grand prize will be.... i will skip an entire pass if i dont like the grand prize.... only if the inbetween rewards are desireable will i consider picking it up......

Your guys battle pass fell pretty flat for me. As far as battle passes go from games its the worst i have ever seen.

Now criticisms aside.

The battle pass objectives should provide fun but achievable missions for everyone.

& since you dont offer skins & are leaning on profile pic's in that reguards you need to not skimp on the pictures.... they need to be eye catching and desirable.... some people might buy the pass simply for one of the reward profile pictures.... these current ones are severely lack luster.

I can see why it would be hard to want to offer good rewards in a 20$ package when your spending$$ economy is so inflated compared to other games.... thats a bed of nails you made for yourself sorry.

battle passes serve two purposes....its not just about the money, they offer an alternative way to keep people engaged and playing your game......

though it should be designed in a way that offers fun and memorable objectives that do not require a ton of potions for the average player.

they should also be desinged in a way that someone who decides to buy it mid way through the season still has a good chance at completing it as long as he buckles down, puts in the work & completes the challenges....

In conclusion, Im sure i missed something or could have said it better. My apologies.
