Why are 6* awakening gems the *only* resource that hasn’t become more available to endgame players?

I understand that when rank 3s first became accessible, that T5CC, rank up gems, sig stones, and awakening gems would be incredibly scarce (and they were!). However, over the many months since then, there has been new content that allowed us *much* more access to T5CC, rank up gems, and more recently 6* sig stones. I think this is a rate of progression most people are happy with, and it makes sense now that rank 4s do exist.
I would have thought 6* awakening gems would follow the trend to match everything else, but instead I have over 50 generic sig stones in the overflow (with 75 more on the way soon lol) because I can’t awaken my champs who need it. I have *so* many good 6*s that are locked behind their awakened ability to become useful, and I have the sig stones to boost them up when that time comes - but because 6* shards are still a bit timely to gather, I have very few opportunities to dupe them naturally. But I can’t awaken them either due to the scarcity of AGs.
I’m an endgame player through and through; I’ve 100% cleared all content except for Abyss (no 5* Aegon, and my 6* is unduped), got the max milestone on SOP, and will get all the objectives of this final week’s challenge as well. I have only ever received 2 awakening gem crystals.
Maybe I’m not looking at it the right way, but the item distribution just feels off to me when I’ve had close to 100 generic sigs in the overflow before, but can’t awaken the right champs to use those stones on.
Has anyone else noticed this too? Or am I not understanding something correctly? Any input would be appreciated, as I’m interested to see what everyone else has to say. Thanks!

What about awakening gem crystal shards? Or fragments? That was the whole reason those two resources were introduced, because no content was big enough to give a whole one of whatever resource. By splitting it up, it’s changed from having nothing for 6months, and then 1 whole one out of nowhere, to earning 1/6th of it over a month and forming it after 6 months.
Let us earn an awakening gem over X months by forming shards. Give us a bit in Cav EQ, and other bits elsewhere, something like summer of pain could have had a quarter of one for example. Then it’s not game breaking, but we feel like it’s valuable.
Still doesn't make me use the gems on someone though
But yea 6 star AGs are way too rare, at this point the only other one I can earn is the generic they put at the end of July 4/cyber weekend unit deals.
Hoping we see an awakening gem crystal in 7.3 exploration
