That's pretty dramatic over a values change, as per their objectives. She wasn't even that bad to begin with since her last buff. Honestly, the issue is being exaggerated.
“She wasn’t even THAT bad” is the equivalent of saying she’s not good. Which is essentially what people are clamoring about. We don’t want the hype of and “buff” but the reality of a dud.

I’ve read your responses. I understand you believe most of us are being “dramatic.” I won’t make this a personal attack towards you because, hell…I don’t have the energy.

But champion buffs are the next best thing to getting exciting champs out of crystals. Especially when these are champions that have so much POTENTIAL. A tweak here, a bump there, and instant amazing champ.

But for most of us it feels like there’s an intentional effort to limit these amazing buffs in the name of “balance.” Which is hard to process because we have more than enough new champs flying around here throwing 10K mediums like it’s normal. The balance argument because pretty repetitive.

People want to be excited about champs they recognize and have grown to like. Outside of MCOC I had no idea Quake was a thing. But Gamora is a thing. And when a simple adjustments could have such positive pro players impact, then it’s a bit callous calling people dramatic.

But alas…I understand you are contrarian. And I know deep down some part of you gets where we are coming from.

That's the problem I already pointed out. If they're not "good" they're "bad". This isn't a game of Jenga. It's not about taking a block from the bottom and putting it on top. Do I get where you're coming from? More than people know themselves. As long as there's an incessant comparison to who can do it better, who was a better buff, who was changed the most, etc.....it's impossible to always be satisfied with what they put out. They can't keep up with that whole "wow us now" mind state. It's never enough. If a Champ is a "good" buff, people call that the standard. If a Champ is a "bad" buff, people ignore the actual changes that were made. For God sakes, it hasn't even gone live yet for people to play, and here we are. If people want those amazing buffs, then go back to a few a year. Otherwise they're going to do what they said. A rework, and a values change a month. Don't complain when the values change isn't as significant as the rework. That was the plan.

If you are decreasing from three champion updates to two champion updates, then this is the worst way to showcase the improvement in "quality". This is such a lazy update that feels like it took a whole of two hours to come up with. The problem with gamora was never the damage but rather the practicality. Being so reliant on heavy to maintain her damage was impractical and that was not changed.

She also did not have any utility and the two pieces of utility added are hilarious. You are telling me that if I want to counter a spidey champ, I need to go all the way to sp3 just to get a true strike to be able to counter evade? Is this a joke? That is so impractical whether you are a new player or an endgame player. No one in their right mind would use her as an evade counter. If I want to use her to counter miss I need to wait for roughly 30 hits. What am I supposed to do till then? What if I need her utility but the matchup is stun immune and I cant refresh my buffs?

This is such a laughable update that you are better off just not doing it. It will free up more time to fix the game. You are also better off just giving the miles morales buff and forgetting about gamora.

Where did I claim to be an expert? It isn't even live yet. I'm talking about the complaining and unreasonable expectations.

Since you can't apply her to the content you're personally applying her to, then the buff is a bust. You do realize there are other people at other areas in the game using her. Right? Don't know how many times I can say it. These changes aren't just about making them the best option for the hardest content.

The problem with true strike locked behind L3 isn't "playstyle" its how inaccessible it is in matchups where you'd actually want to counter evade/auto-block.

To even build to L3 in evade/auto block match ups you'd need to have parry-MLM as an option and if you can parry MLM there's literally no need for true strike in the first place. Evade counter on special 3 is functionally useless, we've seen it time and time again.
Stark spidey who's an amazing champ has an evade counter on sp3 and it's almost never talked about when he's brought up because it's rarely used.

I didnt expect much from the buff, only that it'd make her more usable and alleviate the problems her kit had but it failed to do both in my eyes. Carry on trying to justify this flawed kit though.

No other evade counter needs sp3 to get to, IMO that makes it one of the worst in the game.

We've also got starky, but I can't really fault you for missing it.
I can count the amount of people I've spoken to that remember he has ensnare on one hand.

Edit: There's cable too lol. A champ I and many others have as a r3 6* but is completely ignored when countering evade gets brought up

To be totally honest, I'm getting tired of the subject myself. Who's comparing? Who says it has to be the best "Miss counter"? It's Gamora, who also has some extra use now. It's ridiculous that people go into these buffs with that whole comparison, like they're intended to encourage people with stacked Rosters to dust them off the shelf. It's to make them more useful than they were, within reason, so people who end up pulling them instead of better options can get more use out of them. The game doesn't revolve around the people who are on top. There's a whole game outside of that.
Bottom line is, people are rarely satisfied. They're using better counters and complaining someone might have a new counter instead of a Gamora and none at all. It's really discouraging to see. The buffs they were doing were not enough. Then the 3 a month were not enough. Then the 2 a month are not enough. Jesus Murphy.

My main problem with this buff is that it doesn’t do anything to fix the problems that Gamora already had. While yes, she will not get her bonus buff duration 20 seconds faster than before allowing her to ramp that aspect up quicker, the max duration hasn’t been changed. This means that the problem of keeping her buffs active still remains.

Another problem that I don’t believe was addressed properly was her lack of utility. While she did gain a passive miss counter, it requires at least 10 buffs, which can take a while to build to and maintain. Ultimately, I wouldn’t really call this a practical miss counter considering the ramp up required to achieve it.

The same goes for her evade counter. While she can now refresh it via her heavy, there are two main problems present. One is that her true sight is locked behind her sp3, so she’s going to be without that utility until she builds to 3 bars of power. In matchups with lots of evades, you’re going to need to have easy access to the utility to counter it, which unfortunately she does not. The other problem is that in order to keep up her true strike, she’ll need to use heavy attacks to refresh the buff. In any matchup where the opponent is stun immune, or can purify or reduce the duration of the stun, keeping up any of her buffs is going to be a major pain.

Her reliability on her heavy can also be seen as a negative as well. In order for her to build up her buffs she required frequent use of her heavy attack. Unfortunately, her block proficiency is just under 60%, meaning she isn’t really well equipped for a parry/heavy type of playstyle. And as earlier mentioned, this playstyle is disrupted when fighting opponents that have any sort of effect on your parry stuns.

While we shouldn’t pass any final judgment on this buff until we see it live and can test it ourselves, it is safe to assume based on how Gamora’s kit currently works that the changes made to her won’t be enough to really improve her. The only way I see her being used more is in early game content where you don’t really need to counter anything and can just breeze through most content now.
