And what's worse is they're now releasing Kitty Pryde...who not only counters True Focus but actually benefits from it.

Obviously, but this is up there with making a buffed up path that has to be completed by Red Guardian. It’s short sighted and doesn’t just impact the two best champions in the game, champions which a huge proportion of the community have actively targeted in crystals - earned or purchased and saved their catalysts, AGs and sig stones for, but others two.

The issue is is this is Kabam saying woops these champions are too good, sorry you can’t use them. These are the champions that players have ranked up because they are good and because they cover very important pieces of utility. If that’s the case maybe more effort needs to be put into balance at the outset rather than wait 3 years and just be like nah, you’ve dodged enough special attacks now.

Seriously. At this point, I'm wondering if it was a waste of resources to rank Miles (granted I ranked him before the buff) since this event should have been perfect for Miles, but no, he got screwed.

Yeah, there's already been several threads saying should I rank up X or Y, and some have brought up the point of don't rank them, they need miss or evade. Or threads of should I rank this champ with the addition of true focus?

Not saying it's wide spread, but that is the message that is being sent. If you rank this champion who needs miss or evade, there is a good chance they won't be usable in the newest end game content. AW boss island, SoP and now the champ challenge. It's stacking up, and over time, with more content it's only going to add fuel to the fire of not wanting to rank champions who use miss and evade.

I know that's not Kabam's intention, but it's a real by-product of their decision to lazily hack out ghost and quake from content, instead of choosing a better approach.

The problem with true focus is that it guys other characters as collateral damage. An easy way to fix it would be to create a node where ghost and quake have -100% attack and AA in quests. This way, kabam achieve their goals without gimping other champs in the process.

If they created this to target quake and ghost, they should at least acknowledge and follow through if they aren't willing to change their mindset.

Here's what I don't understand:. People keep saying that Kabam is doing this because there would be a huge outrage if Ghost/Quake were actually nerfed. But then why is this not causing an outrage?

As it is, Ghost/Quake are effectively nerfed anyways. Except with a real nerf we won't be locked out of using other miss/evade champions, and we'd get rankdown tickets to free up resources we invested in these champions.

I r3'd my Ghost at the start of summer, and haven't been able to use her for any meaningful content since. She's essentially banned in AW, and every piece of new difficult content. So I pretty much tossed that Tech T5CC out the window.

Mystic ward doesn't stop me from using my mystic champs unless there are buffs that need to be nullified. True focus completely shuts down ghost and quake while similtaneously nerfing other characters who rely ( not so heavily) on the same mechanics. Quake and ghost take time and practice to learn. They make content easier but kabam should come up with different ways of combating the use of those champions. Further more, if they used it a couple times it would be understandable. Now tho? It is E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E

there’s a difference between not being able to use quake and ghost for everything and not being able to use quake and ghost for anything

That’s because of a few things.

mystic ward doesn’t stop the basic function of champions like true focus does. Doom still Doom cycles, Sorcerer still regens and armour breaks, Diablo still poisons, claire still applies her debuffs. But true focus stops a champion working at their core.

Mr negative can’t evade intercept or get more than 1 petrify or 10 degens, half of his damage gone, and more than that of his utility

Tigra can’t miss projectile attacks, a necessary to the champion allowing 0 block damage against those champions

Stryfe can’t build charges anywhere near as easily, making his ramp up even harder

Prof X will find it harder to build charges, especially in content like today’s challenge where you can’t block

Hood can’t refill his bullets, an absolute necessary of the champions kit

Secondly, mystic ward isn’t everywhere in new, hard content. Tell me, do you remember the last time mystic ward was prevalent? Can you name a path or a quest without even thinking? Maybe one or two fights, but if you ask someone to recall true focus they’ll easily be able to tell you when it’s caused them problems.

Every new piece of hard content/game mode since the gauntlet has had true focus, SoP, AW boss island and now the champ challenge. If it was just one, sure, you could overlook it and shrug it off.

But I’ve recently ranked up my Mr Negative and sig 200ed him. Then AW changes was announced, I had been looking forward to trying him on boss island for those mojo’s, sasquatches, dooms etc. Unfortunately true focus affects him so much it’s safer to bring a different option.

I went into every week of SoP hoping to use him, and while most weren’t suited to his kit, I think 5 of the fights had true focus? So couldn’t use him there either.

Now I planned to use him for the champ challenge, his evade mechanic is awesome for invade, no need to ever block. Plus his reduced combat power rate for opponents can keep you close to an enemy for close encounters. But no, I couldn’t use him here either.

Do you see why it’s frustrating for it to be everywhere that is challenging to use rank 3 champions? all because ghost and quake need to be countered.

Feel free to disagree bomb me. Personally, I support a quake nerf. I feel she's awfully powerful and is more or less an answer to everything in game. Kabam could spend weeks designing something-say this Shang-Chi challenge. And in 2 hours, half the community would've quaked it. A Ghost nerf, I don't necessarily support, but don't mind, seeing as she's also powerful but nowhere near quake imo. But the way Kabam is handling this is poor. Throwing on true focus is horrible, and makes too many champions useless. And then releasing a champ to counter true focus, that's just kinda trash. In a perfect world, kabam would give us a 1 months heads up that they would be nerfing quake and ghost and show us where they'd make changes. Then offer rank down tickets. But that would never happen. I also don't see them moving away from true focus, seeing how they just released a champ who is powerful, but is designed in part around true focus.

The thing which is hurting the most that all other champs are also getting pissed.
Why you even release the champs with miss and evade mechanic when we can't use them.
Better make a seperate tag for Quake and Ghost and leave other champs in peace.
Still it's a matter of time when we see other champs dominating the meta and then they will try to nerf them.
It's just ridiculous to see these type of changes.
And if you are going to same route,provide people rank down resources they invested in those champs.

Yeah I hope act 7.3 doesn't have this where there's hard opponents. If it does, I think there's going to be REAL outrage.

If this keeps going to the same trajectory, I think there should be some rank down tickets.

Kabaam don't know how to nerf quake and ghost so they decided to make them useless in future content. As if war was not enough but every new content now has this **** node. You hurting not only quake and ghost but all champs that have that piece of utility. To top it off they released a character that counters the node so people will whale out. Kabaams greed is what will kill this game.

It’s not just them. Kabam just said screw it, if quake and ghost are too powerful, let’s punish every miss/evade champ for it. Ebony maw, masacre, tigra, maw, miles, elsa, mister negative, ultron, hood, silver surfer, vulture, spider gwen, spider ham, mister fantastic, invis woman, taskmaster, and now even kitty pryde, are all affected by ghost and quake existing. Honestly mind boggling to me how powerful they are in comparison to champs like dormmamu, sentry, mangog, odin, etc. Node ruins a lot of fun champs for me, not liking the direction kabam is going with it. Delete ghost and quake if they have to, shine the light on other champs, and since they are the most powerful champs in the game, that can easily be compensated for a champion selector for each rarity they’ve been deleted, or preferably nerfed and get rank down tickets. True focus is probably the laziest solution there is.

Using quake and ghost is a skill in the game. It's okay with AW and AQ but for personal quests this is ****. You're literally taking the skill away from users and making those champs useless. Either remove the node or give those champs utilities to be more useful without their USP of evade and phasing on true focus nodes

i hope they just remove true focus and make everything the way it was before true focus was a thing. no need to add any anti ghost or anti quake nodes. because quake players know that it takes a whoopin ten minutes to quake a cavalier difficulty foe, yes u might solo the fight but it does have its drawbacks too which makes quake a perfectly balanced champion

Seems to be a pattern that the game progress away from those famous champions to introduce new champions that can counter those nodes so it’s an circle.
