Cav EQ is Bane bugged?

In Cav EQ the bane node says it will tick for .5 percent of current health. But it’s taking 622 health from my character and only 82 for the defender? Am I missing something is is this node worded incorrectly?

The degen it applies to the defender is a percentage of the attacker's health while the degen applied to the attacker is a percentage of the defender's health.
I thought this should be obvious when you go against bane the first time.

That makes sense. Appreciate the response. (Could’ve done without the snarky **** in the last sentence) When I read it I thought it meant “their” own health as opposed to “their” opponents health.
