Mysteriously, Comments Not Refreshing Threads to Top of Recent Discussions?

Lately I've noticed that commenting on some certain threads does not refresh the discussion to the top of the Recent Discussions feed. Is this being done intentionally? Seems like this makes it easier for certain controversial threads to get buried easier...

I believe some pages get included in the Recent Discussions basket and others do not. But I’m not a moderator so I’d only be guessing at how this whole thing is supposed to work.

In my experience on these forums, any comment on any thread bumps it to the top of the recent discussions feed. Seems like that "bump" has been turned off for certain threads now.

At a minimum, the General feed and the Bugs feed should be at the top of the Recent Discussions, and I would argue that Strategy should as well since new content is out and will continue to come out this week (if the new practice is to send every thread asking for counters there).

I prefer recent discussions because it shows you the discussions that people are active in, or newer items.

Recent sometimes includes ally recruitment which can get clogged.

It's not a theory. When someone comments on a thread, that thread becomes the most recent item in recent discussions. When did anyone say anything about bumping threads to get them more attention with moderators? I believe you have misunderstood the message and question in this post.

“Recent Discussions”, from the top menu bar labeled just “Discussions”, is just a combination of most of the categories into a single list of threads (General, Bugs, Requests, Recruiting, etc. while a couple groups are excluded like Meetups).

And, I find it easy enough to just have my mind skip over the Recruitment ones because the name of that category is longer verbiage and my mind just naturally ignores them.

I believe some occasionally get marked as “non-bumping” while not necessarily being closed when there is no further point in continuing to ask “any update”, “any update” every day, or sufficiently discussed while still waiting on final resolutions (so left open) but without need to constantly pull in more ppl echoing just the same thing, or leaving the discussion available for those who had already been discussing a specific issue or those who had given replies (still gets Notifications when updated), etc.
So can still discuss and get notified, while not continuing to pull in even more ppl with additional confrontational/argumentative views that are not constructive to the issue.

I guess I'm just a little confused as to why the INPUT SYSTEM UPDATE - SEPT 2021: DISCUSSION THREAD thread would have been marked as non-bumping when it is just over 2 weeks old and contains the most pertinent information pertaining to parry/dex issues.

I'm talking about the idea that Threads are being silenced that way. Moderators see them either way. It's not being done to silence "controversial" topics. As for your question, yes they have the ability to stop them from pushing to the top.

Probably because that thread was for conveying what (one) of the problems was and progress on trying to get that part resolved. Instead of after 7 pages of comments turning it into “want more compensation”.
