Back Issues #8: Deadpoolooza!

Once upon a time, I made the best quest ever!

That's right, you thought some stuffy old designer was going to write this message, but it was ME!

It’s time for Back Issues #8, smacking you in the face on Wednesday, November 10th!

Just like those other dusty old Back Issues we dig out of the closest, THE EXCEPTIONAL DEADPOOLOOZA will let all of my lovely little Summoners relive a classic quest from the good 'ol days, available in TWO TASTY FLAVOURS:

The classic difficulty is a recreation of the original quest. While not completely 1:1, the layouts, difficulty, and dialogue are all the same as you remember. Look back with smug impunity at how easy the game used to be and flex those muscles!

The variant difficulty is a new spin on the quest, available for Summoners level 45 and up. This version features difficult challenges, new opponents, some map layout updates, and buffs that will empower your #Mercenary Champions... and ME!

... as well as those other slackers who're biting the Deadpool brand.

That means all your #Mercenary and Deadpool-family buddies are going to be juiced up and ready to fight, but all other Champions can't do much more than show up! That's right, it's MY quest, so I made it exclusively for those with excellent taste, dubious morals, or both!

The Variant Challenge

Like I literally just said, this Quest is all about me and all the wannabes. So here’s the sitch, we’ve got Global buffs for me and my homies, and we’ve got new Cross Fight buffs for all the other Mercs. Check em out!

Global Buffs

Mercs for Money: The Defender reduces all incoming damage by {95}%, unless the Attacker is #Mercenary, Deadpool, Deadpool (X-Force), Goldpool, Platinumpool, Gwenpool, Venompool, or Masacre.

Star of the Show: Obviously I should get a huge buff in these quests, I'm the original! Let's pump up all my stats, and finally put something on my SP1. (This buff supplies Deadpool (and ONLY Deadpool) bonus attack, bonus armor, bonus crit rate, increased regeneration potency, and applies a Degen effect to the Defender on a successful SP1)

We Should All Have This Power Anyways: This doesn't make sense. Why don't all my copies have the same abilities as me!? Grant Attacking Deadpool (X-Force), Goldpool, Platinumpool, Gwenpool, Venompool, or Masacre permanent Passive Regeneration of [120]% of their Max Health per minute, scaling with their Power.

Cross Fight Ability Buffs

“But Mr Thrillson!”, you might say, and I would say “Yes my sweet little cherub?”, “These don’t benefit the other #Mercenaries at all!”. And you’d be right! I did things differently this time since this is my quest and will be better than all of the other Back Issues, periodt.

Defeating Deadpooloids throughout the Quest will grant you special abilities that you can carry forward into the rest of the quest, making your Mercs stronger and stronger!

Here’s what you’ve got:

Strapped Up (Skill Deadpooloid): Defeating this Defender grants the Attacker a permanent "Strapped Up" Cross-Fight ability. "Strapped Up" causes the Attacker's Special Attacks to randomly inflict additional Debuffs for the remainder of the quest.

Starlight Acrobatics (Cosmic Deadpooloid): Defeating this Defender grants the Attacker a permanent "Starlight Acrobatics" Cross-Fight ability. "Starlight Acrobatics" grants the Attacker a Phase Passive when they dash back and hold block, causing incoming Attacks to Miss.

Bad Breath (Science Deadpooloid): Defeating this Defender grants the Attacker a permanent "Bad Breath" Cross-Fight ability. "Bad Breath" causes the Attacker to inflict Poison Debuffs on Opponents who are near them.

Sucker Punch (Mutant Deadpooloid): Defeating this Defender grants the Attacker a permanent "Sucker Punch" Cross-Fight ability. "Sucker Punch" makes the Attacker permanently Unblockable while the Opponent is above a certain HP threshold.

You Shall Not Cast (Mystic Deadpooloid): Defeating this Defender grants the Attacker a permanent "You Shall Not Cast" Cross-Fight ability. "You Shall Not Cast" grants Power Steal to the Attacker's Heavy and Special Attacks.

Cyber Hive (Tech Deadpooloid): Defeating this Defender grants the Attacker a permanent "Cyber Hive" Cross-Fight ability. "Cyber Hive" grants all of the Attacker's attacks a chance to Poison and Shock the Opponent.

Right—I missed the first part and I couldn’t tell if you had shocked him before he let off the first Sp3. Which tells me what I need to know: dropping a Sp2 with shocks doesn’t guarantee a KO. Karate Mike got lucky.

That fight is nothing compared to venompool.

Game is so broken… wtg game team. More broken bunk content and inaccurate information.. it would also be nice if my screen didn’t constantly say parry in green while I’m getting pounded into my block, not that you care 6 months later and counting

I honestly think this is the worst variant by far. V1 is better then this.(except rewards)

I think the answer is yes.

I’ve run that fight ~20 times. Every time DPX gets his Sp3, he immediately uses it. He has never used any of his other specials, despite copious dancing around and trying to tease them out.

I cleared him this morning using VP, Domino, Masacre, 3* DP and Luke Cage (6* R2). It took the team whittling him down and Cage tanking one Sp3, eating another and then getting a Sp1 stun lock to finish him off. No items used.

But…that was my fifth or sixth try using different teams.

@Karatemike415 has used Nebula with success by dropping her Sp2 with full shocks, but I wonder if it’s still possible for DPX to fire off his Sp3 before he dies. It worked for Mike.

Others on here have claimed to use Domino and killed him before he got his Sp3. That seems like it would take a lot of luck.

So, yes—I think it’s bugged, even though people have successfully cleared it.

Horseman Domino can get an easy solo.
I brought a team of Apoc, Wags, Prof X, Domino and Massacre.

- Apoc for horseman
- Prof X for his 25% special increase and the Apoc synergy that gives horsemen +30% prowess potency
- Wags for the damage boost from both his prefight and atonement synergy. He also has a synergy with Prof X that increases the potency of the atonement synergy

I sacrificed 2 revives on NC to get 4 charges on Apoc then made Domino a horseman. I also popped a 15% attack boost and a 200% power boost for good measure. My plan was to launch back to back sp2 but he threw his sp3 after the first sp2. It didn't matter anyway, the second did a massive 89k crit. The 15% attack boost was probably uneccassary but I had a lot of it and didn't want to take any chances.

I will continue once the bugs are fixed. Luckily the rewards don't have me running to complete this right away.

For goodness sakes Kabam, please test map 8 and make sure it goes well. The disaster a bugged map 8 will make this situation look decent in comparison. Just a heads up from an end game player.

After finishing around 60% of this, I can certainly say that this quest is by far the hardest!! And it's not even close
.
There are so many fights you literally can't have any counter for it, Vision Arkus followed by thing in 2.1, both left lanes in 3.2, and that's on top of my head, probably there are so many to count.

they forgot we can only access 15 champions only, most of them are trash.
And the painful part is, same f****** rewards!!

Btw, I already cleared VP quest 100%, and I'm not a noob, I have everything 100% including Abyss and Carina's challenge, as well as all back issues.. (gauntlet and SoP as well) -FREE TO PLAY- until now, I have no interest to finish this stupid quest.

Not to knock on your skill but aarkus was easy with a combo if TM and Domino. The health pools are low enough to not require and actual counter

I'm confused, I went into 8.1.2 read the nodes on the boss, didn't bring a bleed immune merc, I have very few. For the record I have 160+ 5*s not one less than r2. I have mad do with trash champs, some skill, and crappy rng for 7 years. So, because I could have brought in an r3 5* nebula and tanked the supposedly non existent special, it's my fault?

I feel like a 48 hour turn around for an answer on something of this magnitude is pretty well handled. Thanks to all that helped clean it up.
