War season/ Gifting cut off date

I know that there is a 14 day requirement for someone to be in an alliance to qualify/contribute to the alliance gifting event. What is unclear is the cut off date.
Since War season ends on 8th Dec, this would be past the last possible date for people looking to join a new alliance after this current war season.
Can someone at Kabam confirm if it is possible for any new recruits joining after this season to be part of the alliance gifting event starting the 20th Dec? Even if they can’t obtain the full rewards. This information will help with recruiting so some clarity and confirmation would be appreciated.

    Or at least start the gifting event on 22nd so there’s a buffer for when season rewards come out and someone wanting to join a new alliance can be eligible for the gifting event.

    If it works like last time, if you join one day before gifting starts, you can get alliance points after only one day is left in the gifting event. Also chill dude

    Unfortunately I can’t find that thread. Interestingly though I see people starting new threads asking similar questions

    It makes perfect sense. The wording says that players who have not been in an alliance for less than 14 points cannot contribute towards or claim rewards.

    The wording does not state that players have to be in an alliance 14 days before gifting starts.

    It’s really rather simple when you read it.

    Gifting event runs from 20/12 to 3/1. Thats 15 days. If you join an alliance on 10/12, you can’t contribute towards or claim rewards until 24/12.

    It’s 14 days. You can’t count the start day and the end day. The point is the same - join before it starts and gift 14 days to the minute after you join.

    Could a moderator clarify 2 specific scenarios that have been raised as potential issues related to alliance hitting milestones before an account is eligible to post points or get rewards. Hoping for official clarification from @Kabam Miike
    1) "New account" joins 12 days before event start. Rest of the alliance gifts on day 1 and 2 and hits the first 5 milestones. When "New account" is there for 14 days (day 3) then they can gift. When they do, will they still get the first 5 rewards. I have been told by a couple of players that last year, they didn't get those rewards as they weren't eligible when the reward was achieved.
    2) "New New account" joins 12 days before event start at level 35. By day 10 of the event they achieve level 40. Similar to above, the alliance had achieved many milestones by that point. Will New New account be shut out of those early milestone rewards since they weren't eligible when they were achieved by the alliance.

    RE: this other line of questions regarding timing of when you initially start to contribute points, versus what Milestone other people in the alliance have already pushed the alliance's progress up to before you ever contribute a single point yet.

    It is the same as say the “Loyalty Spend” event, where the very first few people can single-handedly push the alliance up thru all the milestones well before most of the rest of the alliance is able to login that day and contribute any points of their own. It is a shame that the rest of the alliance do not get to claim those Milestones, simple because they were reached before they had a chance to contribute.

    (good thing that that is not the case, and won't be the case for alliance gifting milestones either)
