AW Season 31 - Attacker Ban List

Although subjective; it seems like most top tier alliances (and probably a majority of others) will have comparable attacker bans in place. Clearly we have a month to mess around and assuming most alliances are still going to be running the High Ground defensive tactic; I'm of the opinion that most will be banning the following 3 attackers:

Torch
Ghost
Quake

sub in Doom, Fury, Magneto as other options. What's your opinion?

These bans should have a 2-war cooldown timer, so it won't be the same bans from war to war.

Attacker bans is ridiculous. I'm not top tier war by any means, but that is insane. We spend valuable resources for specific rankups to help get through content, to include War, and then they can just be excluded? Saaaaay whaaaaaaaaat?

And on top of that, defender nodes and champs that require certain counters, now have those counters removed? Huuuuuuhhhh?

How does this make the game more fun? How does it make it more interesting? Maybe for some it will, but honestly, I think this is another nail in the coffin for driving people away. I play to get champs, rank them and use them where they fit the best. Now, someone can just disallow my hard-earned champs in War to make a stressful piece of content, even more stressful? Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope.

I think it is fairly clear that Kabam's goal with AW has never been for it to be "fun".

Other than that Hercules, Ghost, Torch & Doom will be common ones
May be Quake as well
Some good placements on Hazard Shift nodes will definitely warrant Ghost bans

Yeah I’m afraid Torch will not be going to war ever again. I don’t see any timeline where torch isn’t banned every single war. I think maybe a timer should be added to each champ that you ban and lasts until after the following war so that at the very least every other war has different bans.

Torch is definitely number 1 in my ban list. LOL. Yeah, there should be a limit or cooldown of how often a champ can be banned.

One of my suggestions was that you can have 6 bans per champ over the season. That way it needs to get changed up at least once

Yeah I like this idea also. I definitely think something needs to be done so that the same champs aren’t banned every single war.

It's just going to be like defensive tactics. Everyone will ban the same champs every war. I ranked up torch literally just for war and he's going to be banned 90% of the time. Sucks we can't fight with the best champs that we already ranked up for yet another game mode. Sinking ship we are on.

Disagree completely. Forces more strategy, makes players dig into their skill sets more, makes people rosters more prevalent. Way more positives than negatives imo. It's a welcomed addition and is going to make next war season much more fun, and may even shake things up on the leaderboards...

Great to have a difference of opinion - that's the beauty of the forums and I will still disagree completely with you as well. I've read your other posts about liking the Class gates in Act 6 because it tests your "roster depth". Kudos to you for having a deep roster to go with your skill. Many people don't have the deepest rosters who purposely rank/ranked champs to counter specific champs, nodes, etc and I'm pretty sure that Gates are not what most people consider fun - that's just based on all the Act 6 feedback from other posts though.

For me, this game has always been about purposely ranking up champs specifically for counters and/or for love of the character. I've ranked up plenty of champs as counters for specific content - to include AW nodes/paths. Resources are finite though. Just taking away the options in people's rosters, especially from people with less developed rosters (think about the middle tiers of war) and putting up this new type of "gate" is not going to be a fun experience. And there will be matchups where it's going to feel like a gate when you take certain champs off the table - or end up having to use many more boosts/items... which I would whole-heartedly argue is not a skill.

Hats off to everyone who enjoys this - I ain't one of them. Haven't enjoyed war in ages and honestly seeing this hurting things more than helping. I guess we will see.

Its only 3 champs, just get used to not ghosting everything in AW

Lol, I barely use Ghost - I could probably count the number of times I've used her on my fingers - never been a fan of her. I do, however, have 30 x 5* R5s maxed out, 11 x 6* R3s and a good deal more R2's and I use a wide range of champs for all kinds of different content. For me, personally, I don't like having my hard earned champs just wiped from the available options, especially when going up against others that have much larger rosters to pick and choose from. Personally, it won't impact me either way - I've been weening myself off AW the last 3 seasons, and this move is helping me drop yet another portion of the game from my list of things to want to do. Not a lot left to cross of the list (for me) these days.

Quake isnt getting banned. She's obsolete. Look at the fight times, a lot of sub 8k. Quake isn't used that much in t1/t2 wars, if at all.
One of the bans will be best counter to the boss, whomever that will be. Most often that will be Spidey99.
Ghost makes so many though fights a joke, so she'll be often banned.
Or you can try to target getting a kill on a specif node/defender combo and you ban the best ans maybe only option to that fight.
It will be interesting and frustrating at the same time.
