Tech - Nimrod. Obviously since he’s my first r4 6*. I’ve spilled a lot of ink about him here, so I won’t spend time now.
Mutant - Bishop. Very fun to play. He’s not the best in every situation, but his damage is incredible and his utility against champions and nodes that shrug debuffs is top tier stuff.
Skill - Jabari Panther. All day. She almost beat out Nimrod for 1st R4. Her ability to power through various debuff matchups is, in my opinion quite possibly the best in the game. Her bleed damage is bonkers, her evade counter is simple, and just all in all a fantastic champ.
Science - genuinely tough one. I’d say Mr. F or Miles. There are a lot of contenders in this class, and I haven’t had an opportunity to familiarize myself with all of them. Both but Mr. F and Miles bring a lot of diverse utility to the table, both are very good at locking down different opponents, and both work with very cool synergy teams and partners.
Mystic - Answer used to be Doom, but now I’m thinking either Mojo or (real wildcard answer) Hood. Hood if they trigger lots of permanent buffs that need to be staggered or nullified off, Mojo if they trigger lots of duration-based buffs. They are, arguably, the best buff controllers in the game. And both have ways of converting their utility into massive damage without sacrificing anything in the process.
Cosmic - Silver Surfer. Another contender for my first r4 choice. People think he’s just a prestige pick, but I love him in his own right. Smooth animations, forgiving ramp up (if you’re familiar enough with him, you can recover from messing up your buff refreshing in most instances), extremely underrated phase mechanic (I’ve used it to dodge a lot of unblockable specials), and extremely fun to play. Especially if you have an Odin to give him three extra buffs to jack his damage up even higher. And I didn’t even mention his 100% shock, incinerate, and coldsnap resistance. Absolute banger, deserves more recognition.
I think the through line for all of these champs is that they don’t have to trade utility for damage or vice versa in their playstyle. You can, and in fact should, be able to utilize and maximize both throughout a given fight. I don’t want to have to ignore one aspect of a champion I love in favor of using some other part of their kit. I want it all. And these champs allow for that.

Tech - Ultron, fun seeing DOTS and also love his specials
Mutant - Apocalypse, A beast.... An absolute beast.... Toooo fun to play!
Skill - Falcon, First 5* and he is quite smooth. Love special 1 bleed with Locked On
Science - Human Torch, Love seeing him melt mystics and put so many incinerates, especially once he reaches max temperature or uses his pre-fight ability
Mystic - Doctor Doom or Hood, Hood out of love in MCOC, but Doctor Doom is not only one of my favourite Marvel villains but also really OP and fun to play in MCOC.
