As we know OG Cap has received a facelift in the new update without receiving a buff, & it has been softly indicated that he won't be getting buffed anytime soon
So what could be the reason fr such an update ??
The only possible reason I could come across is that when a new player downloads the game, they get a small tutorial with Cap
Earlier it ws Cap but I think it was changed to Black Widow or may be it randomly shifts between the two
May be Kabam didn't want the character graphics of the game to feel dated fr someone who has just installed the game
BW's graphics are still decent enough though they could also use some work, but Cap ws extremely boring & vanilla

pretty sure it’s currently Spider-Man in the tutorial
But but, Classic Cap is a permanent member of the parry tutorial, which might be the actual reason
it’s most noticeable when he throws his heavy and when you hit into his shield
but his pfp is the exact same
What’s different?
A related reason is when some new under the hood technology is added to the game. Sometimes small projects are used to test them out.
A third reason is sometimes a developer reaches a stall point in the dev pipeline. They've completed their tasks ahead of schedule but cannot start the next task on their plate. They might have a few days where they cannot reasonably start a major project. In moments like this sometimes they are allowed to take on small projects of interest. An FX designer might have had some free time and were allowed to add some small touches to a champion that they had a personal stake or preference in working on.
I wish Captain America could be more useful, but at least we have the VFX to look at.
