Differences between iOS and Android currently

Hi all, wondering if the gap between iOS and Android is still as big as it was years ago.
Considering higher end android models (Galaxy s20 or better) vs newer iOS phones.
I know the animations still differ. But I am mostly talking about loading times, lag in fights, server errors, things of that nature.

I never get lags in fight but after this update openin crystals does cause lag. Nothing atrocious though. Also no special effects and animations (android)

The problem isn't that android phones aren't capable of running the game faster and smoother than iphone (They do so for every other game and app on the market) but Kabam simply refuses to optimize the game for Android.

So we're stuck with lags, framedrops, absurd load times and potato graphics.

My game's been running smoothly recently and I'm on just a mid tier android. Having a few animations and a few effect available to iphones over android doesn't make it potato graphics when 95% of it is the same.

The fact that so many people are having lag and that so many people aren't just goes to show why it's tricky to "step it up" for Android devices in general.

I'm no expert but wouldn't it be a better idea instead is to bring in options to customise graphics so that it is down to the user instead and allows Kabam to implement graphic changes?

I'm on Android, phone being about 4-5 years old now, game works fine. There are the occasional dropped inputs, but I think that's more of a game wide issue than a device specific one. Bugs and input issues have showed up (rarely) in the last 2-3 months, but the phone runs fine.

My phone also has an option in the settings where I can adjust the frame rate and resolution. The default was normal, which leads to a horrible gaming experience. I only realized this option was there when I saw some mcoc vids on yt and saw that their graphics were much better than mine.
After every update I have to manually change the graphics to make smooth gameplay.

So since a lot of you are asking, this is how I do it on my phone. Now, it's a much older LG phone, so I'm not sure if the same settings are there in other devices, but this really makes a difference in mine.

I'm a graphics designer so things like that stand out. I watch YouTube videos of champs and they look beautiful - Ghost's phase, the warp effects, nice reflections, watery floors. Smoke and lighting look so much better and more realistic. I don't care much about the weather systems, these are the stuff that matter to me.

Also the whole excuse about it being tricky to set up things for Android stopped being true ages ago. Many games like COD, are able to maintain similar performance and look on both platforms.

I would like custom graphics as well. I want those features but given how long it's taken to get mastery presets, I won't hold my breath.
