I can smell the imminence of 7 stars

6 star offers have been crazy lately. 3k units can awaken either Hercules or kitty. And most end game players have more than 150–200 6 stars, even mid tier players have 100 or above 6 stars. And kabam needs money for champions hype, which reflects on cavs. This game is all about champs. If ppl already have all the 6 star champs they want, how can kabam keep getting more money? Relics or strikes can’t feed Kabam’s wallet. They are definitely releasing 7 stars to continue boosting their revenue. So IMO 7 stars will probably be shown when 6 star rank 4 can be easily obtained. So what do you think about 7 stars?

It's inevitable that they come, but they're trying something new to postpone them since they are aware of the general feeling of the community toward 7 stars.

I don't see 7 stars coming at least a year after r5 6 stars are available, but I also don't think a relic system or whatever would be able to replace a new rarity. They have said that they've got no plans for 7 stars yet, but it's not hard to imagine them coming at some point. And tbh, if they do come, I wouldn't mind.

But, if (and when) 7 stars do come, they need to release content catered towards them. As many have said, there really isn't much content that we even need r3's for, let alone maxed out 6 stars. Basically all of the game can be done with maxed out 5 stars. So the real detriment to adding 7 stars is also adding the appropriately challenging content.

Either way, I don't see it happening for a long time, if at all, but I'm not going to be bothered if it does happen.

What kind of “mid-tier players” have 100+ 6* champs??? I know some whales have 150+, but I think most “Endgame” and established TB players probably have more like 50-100. I would consider Cav to be more of a mid-tier, and if you can’t get to TB by the time you have 100 6* champs, you’re just trying not to.

As another point, you never left space in your poll for people to disagree with your point of view that 7* champs are imminent. All of the options are just on how we would react if they were added. You mentioned that you think they’ll be added around the time that 6* R4 is “easily obtained” but I doubt it will even be relatively common for TB players to have even 1 6* R4 by the end of this year. I’m really confused by your timeline.

You also state that “relics can’t feed Kabam’s wallet”…… and then go on to say that they’ll release 7* champs to make more money. How can you think that they would introduce relics and not be able to make money off them? Especially if they are meant to delay the introduction of new champion rarities, I can see Kabam making bank off the introduction and release of new relics, even if they are reasonable about making them achievable for F2P players. The problem with releasing 7*s too early is that an increasingly accelerated game economy can wreck the game (and thus make Kabam lose money) more than it can help the game. They do want money but they do have experience on how to keep a game alive.

I usually try to find some common ground with posts, but I just see so differently than you on most things. I appreciate that you keep a relatively positive voice about this though, since many people complain whenever they mention 7*s.

You could always rank 3 5*s, t4cc has more or less always existed, just as the most rare resource in the game back then. 6* were released at the same time as the first t5b catalysts became available, so at the same time as players got the first 5r5 champs

Six stars came before my second rank 5 five star. It’s not far off. I hope they have r4 six star power level. Like 6 stars are r4! Five star level

6*s came out the same month we could r5 5*s. So we might see 7* champs, but that would be at the end of act 8

We dont have content for 6* r4 champs presently. 6* r3 champs can clear all the content with ease. So unless new content with highest difficulty is launched I dont see 7* coming this year. This year it would be dominated by 6* r4 champs.

I wasn't around when 6 stars were introduced, but if an unleveled 6 star is 5* rank 3, thank an unleveled 7 star might be 6 star rank 3.

This is not a true statement for the overwhelming majority of the playerbase. And to the extent that it is true at all, it also seems to be mostly irrelevant to players decisions. Players who don't "need" them still rank them, and still heavily pursue rank up materials. So I don't think this observation is meaningful (nor has it ever been really).

At the moment I have 139 6* champs. I'm not a whale, but I'm also probably significantly above average when it comes to roster growth. My guess is the average mid-tier Cav has about 50 6* champs or so, and the average end game or near end game TB has something closer to 100+.

Ahh, see I’m sitting at 81 6* champs (I think) with basically everything done except Act 6 exploration and AOL. I just forget that I’m not doing higher tier AW/AQ, nor do I buy deals, and those can definitely make a big difference.
