If it's not there, it's probably an extra step on one of the paths. There's way more wastes of energy on paths than that one step.

If that was the only reason they put that extra space in then it could have just been a regular cutscenes of the comic panels like they occasionally do without adding the energy cost. The only thing that makes sense is because they wanted to increase the average energy cost for the quest but it is odd it wasn't put before the boss instead.

Ok, they'll move that 1 space to BEFORE the final node, problem solved, lol.

To the thought that it's because they have Dialog after the Boss fight (insightful), there have been so many months that all we see is Dialog at the final boss but then after beating him there is nothing. No “what, so what happens”, etc, that would really be needed to wrap up the whole story. So a culmination would be very welcome (even if it means moving an extra space afterwards).

Although, moving that 1 space should be automatic after beating boss, lest some people decide to erroneously quit the quest thinking they were done.
