Arena is still a joke. Will it ever change?

Will the setup of arena ever change? With all the mercs and everything else it’s basically just another game mode that’s pointless to players and more times than not a complete waste of time.

How does this get players motivated to play? I spent my entire week of vacation grinding arena.
Round 1 I did 18 mil and get #177. Round 2 I do 29.6 mil and do much worse in the rankings. As someone that already has all 4 rework champs duped it basically means my entire week was wasted on getting 1 sig level on a 5 star champ.

For me I’ve pretty much had it at this point unless something changes. Aq is meh in game with the what feels like pebbles from map 8 crystals. Aw is bugged every season. And all I have yet content wise to finish is act 6 and I’d rather do abyss again.

As a F2P guy, I have and will likely never go for Feature 6*. Maybe possible in a rerun champ but I generally target the reruns in the basic. I currently have 133 6-stars and 78 r4/r5 5* champs. I can get to 40-50mil in the basic running those frequently w/o refreshing. You saw someone sneak in round 1 with 25mil and thought I can do that... While I don't like over-doing it, I also try not to be the 'cutoff'. I still put in her 39mil in the 2nd round to 'help make sure' there wasn't any doubt (but this is still not a gaurantee). It's always a guess as far as how many are targeting the top100 and how much those are generally willing to put up.

Since the Arena rework, I've gotten six 6-star champs via the Basic and have spent 0 units:

The Arena is first and foremost a competition of Points. The more Points you put up, the higher you Rank. That also ties into your Roster. The more Champs you have and the higher you Rank them, the more Points you put up. The whole point of advancing in the Arena is to continue growing our Rosters and competing consistently. Over time, we get better at it.
There's no guarantees in a blind competition.
If you keep missing out on rewards and only the people with units can grind out the rewards by completely abandoning sleep and normal life, how will a lower rated player ever be able to make it to the top and advance ?

You’re expecting a lower rated player without units to out progress the top? Lol.

Arena is pointless with so many bots about. Plus would rather spend the time having a big dump and endure Warzone pain.

You get Rewards for what you Grind. Whether you get the Champ or Shards, that helps grow your Roster, along with what you get in other areas of the game. The more your Roster grows, the more Points you can earn and the easier you will earn them.
I've been a Grinder since I picked up the game and the one thing that people miss when trying to become successful in the Arena is they don't do it consistently.

It is a competition. All competitions have winners and losers. We don't say that all competitions are badly designed because they generate too many losers. Well, most of us don't.

Also, I basically never spend on recharge. I don't spend a huge amount of time in the main arenas either by virtue of the fact that I never use 4* champs in them, so I'm recharge limited (I do use them in the Trials arena when I have the time to grind for milestones in there). And yet, since the scoring in the basic arena was last revised in June 2021, I have gotten at least the 5* featured champ almost every time. I've gotten the 6* featured three times. Once outright: Sabretooth. Twice via compensation: Void and Dr. Voodoo.

If I don't miss any rounds (I often do) I can put up about 50-55 million in the featured arena with 6* champs, and probably 70-75ish if I use both 5* and 6* (I usually split up and run 5* in the basic for milestones and 6* in the featured for whatever rank reward I get - generally the 5* featured). Had I focused on the featured arena exclusively, I would have almost certainly picked up four more: Refreshed Rampage twice, Sentinel, and Doom.

If you think it is pointless to try, don't try. But lots of people disagree with you, and they are the ones walking away with the rewards. In fact, a lot of people have other people like you to thank for scooping up an essentially free Doom. The first round cutoff for Doom was ridiculously low, because a lot of people thought it wasn't worth shooting for. The ones that tried anyway got him for relatively no effort (the cutoff was around 61 million). That's how competitions work.

Yeah this what the first basic 6* I grinded(back when 4* were a thing a grinded that for some reason lol) put almost 3m over the last cutoff and still missed my MM dupe lol initially was super salty about missing that lol
