whiff - for me, this word translates as to sniff something...

How can you smell the second hit in the game? What does this mean in the game?

It's when and attack misses due to distance. Example, using a light attack when the opponent is on the other side of the arena

“Whiff” in baseball terms is “swing and a miss”.

You attempted to attack, but attack missed.

Yes, can also mean to smell something.. aka “get a whiff of this”. Either literally (smelling), or figuratively (politics, something doesn’t “smell” right about a proposed bill, etc)
