Am I missing something cause why would you want to Root Yourself?

Maybe when I actually get to test him I won’t mind it but this just seems really annoying

means the opponent physically cannot get out of the corner

But he also can root himself when the opponent throws a SP at 20

How does the root cancel out again?

Functions similarly to unstoppable, but doesn’t involve the same mechanics so it can function differently with lots of nodes/slow debuffs/etc.

I think that so u can dex specials and still corner opponent without hitting him till he gets to the wall

The whole idea is to trade hits while unstoppable; while awakened you’ll regen back all the damage whilst at the same time building up ruptures for MASSIVE SP2 damage. Time the root well just before you reach Sp2. You can also “unroot” yourself at will with a heavy attack if you find yourself staring at an Unblockable and hard to evade special attack. A very interesting mechanic that opens up all new ways of playing and being aggressive.

    Thanks this was helpful 👍

So, in a weird way, he’s going to be anti Quake. Not a quake counter but rather the opposite of quake

Use a special or heavy. I might have missed it but if the damage reduction is similar to when Sassy or Kingpin when they are unstoppable this can be OP in the right situation.

At times, spacing can have a pretty significant impact on a fight. Being rooted allows you all the benefits of dashing back without giving up any of your advantages of pushing the opponent towards their back wall. It will be an interesting mechanic for sure. I certainly am not excited about being up against this guy as a defender and being just pinned to my own corner. I think this is a bit of a test dummy for Root. There are three other Characters at least (Omega Red, DragonMan and Immortal Abomination) who could definitely benefit from the ability to root themselves when desired. Basically any champ or node with a proximity based effect has the ability to take advantage of this mechanic.
    Edit: Aarkus too.
