Cavs and Eternity of Pain

If a 3* Ronin can destory Icarus then how come Cavalier players can’t play Eternity of Pain? I understand keeping us from rank 4 material, but why not let us access a few of the more basic rewards like T5 class catalysts or 6* shards. It’s really disheartening not getting access to content that you know you could complete.

The progress gates are not there to block you from what you can't do. We don't need to block you from what you can't do. The progress gates are there to block you from what you might be able to do, but isn't designed to be balanced for you.
Content is designed for the players that can access it, with rewards designed for players that can complete it. If Cavaliers were allowed to run EoP, then EoP would have to be designed with them in mind, and more importantly the rewards would have to be balanced with them in mind. Thronebreakers and Paragons would have to get less rewards, even if the content remained at its current difficulty, if that happened.
The devs can't, and don't even want to find and prevent every cheese opportunity. Sometimes that's just the reward players get when they find them and choose to use them, tedious though they might be. Such things are not a problem when the content is gated to only a certain group of players and the rewards are tuned for them. Handing out one cheese point to Thronebreakers and Paragons is no problem. Handing out cheese points to Cavalier and lower players is a problem. A problem the progression gate prevents.
There's two kinds of players. There are players who, when they see higher tier difficulty and rewards aspire to reach them. And there are players who feel they deserve them and are disappointed when they aren't handed them. I say handed, because being handed things for nothing includes opportunities, not just rewards. Progression games are intended for the former, not the latter. The latter need to go find games where no one's progress is ever rewarded, and everyone is treated exactly the same, no matter what they do, no matter how long they do it, forever.
This is coming from a thronebreaker player.
There have always been gates to content. You cannot just jump into act 6, you must complete previous acts. You cannot just jump into cav EQ without having completed act 6.1. This is the same. You cant jus jump into EOP without having beat act 6 and having a 6* r3 (aka being TB).
The rewards of EOP is not in line with that of the cav player.
TLDR; ACT 6 IS THE CAV EOP
The whole idea of what content is available to a player is not based on the (false) assumption that there are "Cavalier players" or "Uncollected players." That's just a colloquialism. There are no Cavalier players. There are players who happen to be Cavalier now. Cavalier players have a certain narrow window of content roughly balanced for them, just like all other progress tiers. But Cavalier players don't stay Cavalier forever, or at least don't have to. They can become Thronebreaker, and then Paragon. They still have a vast amount of game ahead of them. They still have somewhere to go.
Paragon players and players more or less at the end game don't have anywhere left to go. And they won't have anywhere to go until the game invents new progress tiers above them. A Cavalier player still has challenges ahead of them. A Paragon player is likely running out of them or has actually run out of them (by virtue of completing them).
When we say end game players have very little content for them, we mean they have very little content targeting them, and they have no way to move on to higher tiers of challenge. They've hit the progress wall, and now have to wait there. That's what makes end game specific content uniquely important to create for the highest progress tiers. Lower progress tiers already have things they can do and places to go if they exhaust what they can do. Thronebreakers are running out of it and Paragons (at least currently) have probably exhausted it. "End game" content is there to keep the game alive for them.
You do large write outs so genuinely curious where those folks fall under. Some thronebreakers have also exhausted all content but are still being held back in this EoP.
Just because u saw some u tube video where 3 star ronan does the fight don't assume its easy. Plus that gives only 1 point maybe i guess? And 3 star ronan will take hours to finish the fight.
FYI i have quite developed roster but this eop is i guess for late thronebreakers and paragon. Even Early thronebreakers cannot do this according to me.
Definitely unfair to leave them out after including them last year
There are plenty resources in the game for Cavs to reach TB at least - there have been at least 10 editions of Cav EQ (probably more - I'm just using a number) which gave 5% ct5c selectors.
Anyone who seriously wants to be a TB could be one now, and no you dont have to have the best champ to do so - plenty of ppl last year and before took up who they had just to get the next level of rewards. You wouldnt even need to buy deals at July 4th or Cyber weekend - just grind Cav EQ & Side quest every month and finish act 6 completion.
I'm TB so it don't really affect me but I do feel for the cav players. Still don't see (paragon included) why they cant get 1 point. Yes there is plenty of other content to help them players, but that same content was there last year, bit of moot point when you look at it like that 🤷♂️
If you’re reading this and angrily thinking “but I can do that!” then I invite you to prove it by completing the other content the game has provided for you. Grandmaster was the boss of SoP last year, so you should be well equipped to handle him by now. Completing act 7 gives you a generic r3 gem so you don’t even have to be level 60 to become Thronebreaker. Should be easy for you.
