Wow. Initial thought: DPX is an absolute TANK

This is just a quick thought, with my DPX a 6-star, unduped, Rank 1: I am still learning the mechanics and rotation, but off the top: MAN. This kit can absorb some punishment, because of the Taunt mechanic.

I know everyone will test it and have their opinions, but I will say this: I look forward to reading every single one of them, because it’s not a clear “DPS and Go” buff. It’s really interesting, and I am curious about how people receive it and use it

. I feel sorry for the guy that took his to r4, maybe it was just for fun. Everyone is talking about animations as if that's what win fights. Go into BG, AW, AQ and win points for animations. That slap charge is a very nice way to get hit. And if you don't enjoy building it up against passive WS then all the best in aggressive AI fight. And seems the sp2 stun can't even get you half the charges hahaha. I was testing him quit out on the 2nd time. They should have given him some big basic and special attack damage and that would have made him just okay. After all the post Storm is OP, I guess we should all been expecting this.
DPXF in summary
- Build slap charges to 10, heavy into sp1 don't waste your time with anything else cos they're useless
- taunt your opponent and evade specials.
That's all you need to know about the champion. I think this is round 1 of the buff.

Animations are indeed impressive. However…

I have a rank 2 6*. On a random sp2 that had 3 crits (including the final hit, which is by far the biggest at 3693), he hit for a total of 6797. That is truly awful 😞

This is a DDHK kind of buff. The new Deadpool excels at nothing no one will rank him for bleeds,power gain or even taunt mechanic. He has nothing different to bring to the table, I rather use x-23 with a simple play style and better bleeds with regen.

My initial honest thought, they're actually better than DPXF. Gamora can do respectable damage, has some utility and with synergy can shut down robots. Ronin, those who are skillful are able to do really nice stuffs with him. Nova has some good defensive capabilities.
Now this one, I really don't know where he fits. I'm interested in seeing how the community responds to this buff. So all this time, you know what they were buffing his animation but that's useless if we don't play him. Unless when we face him we get distracted by it and die...I cracked it guys. I'm so shocked I'm not even upset

I've just tested it a little bit and I love it. Charging the slaps is risky, the dmg in sp2 isn't a lot and that stun falls quick. But it makes me smile and laugh seeing this man skip with his swords.

The question though, is will we be laughing about it after the newness wears off? Will we be laughing with him in AW, AQ, or monthly CAV eq? For me, probably not.

I was hyped to take him to R3 as a spot with NF when running suicides, but I think he's staying at R2 and mostly going to be on the bench still. His Specials need more damage (my medium crits for more than an entire sp2) and the stun needs another 1/2 second
so I can run to the defender and safely slap them before they wake up. Even then, he'll just be OK enough to warrant a synergy spot without feeling like a waste still. Glad they're thinking outside the box, but the result, other than the funny skipping, is pretty underwhelming. 6* R2 took WS down in 3m 10s in 80 hits. That's a lot of time for a champ with class advantage and has the word "super" in their kit.

Everyone who complains about passive AI might want a second look at this guy. Sure, he’s slow but I doubt the enemy will hold their specials.

DPX SP2 seems to deal no damage. Vision's SP2 does literally no damage (for that matter, neither does SP1).

DPX SP2 seems to deal no damage. Vision's SP2 does literally no damage (for that matter, neither does SP1).

But he has the incredibly useful power burn/steal to make up for it. Dpool has a stun that well, doesn't really help him much in any way.

You know, it’s really hard to put my finger on it.

First: I totally understand the concerns about raw DPS. Nothing I say is gonna change the numbers.

But here’s my thing: I am a bit of a quirky player in that I routinely run Inequity and Resonate, and also normally have a few points in Deep Wounds, and currently do.

I am not sure how popular Inequity and Resonate are. But as a more patient player who takes a bit more block damage, I don’t know how else to explain it other than I get this buff.

I am not trying to pretend it’s for everyone. I can read, and I see that some people are disappointed.

Just saying that I am one of those quirky people whose playstyle and Mastery setup makes this buff interesting.

For instance, I think — repeat, think — off the top of my head, this kit might be really good for a Battlegrounds/Safeguard week, depending on your Masteries and how comfortable you get building those Slap Charges, which I find not too complicated to do.

Just tried him out in ROL. Great animations, though the skipping is a great way to get combo'd in the face. Also a basic 4/5 hit combo does more damage then a Special 2, which may be the 1st champ like this? Is he better, yes. Will he be useful, not for me. When I compare my 6* R1 DPX to my 5* R4 X-23, so at an equivalent level, X-23's bleeds and damage are far better.

It almost feels like it's purposefully meant to deal less damage, like Angelas specials and Mordo's sp3. I saw a video of a maxed out xpool dealing hits in the hundreds on his sp2 which is pathetic for a maxed 5*!

If Kabam is buffing and releasing champions with battlegrounds in mind, that kind of worries me that we'll start getting more mediocre champs that sit on the bench in everything else, maybe besides the occasional defensive placement.

Not to be negative here and I really appreciate the effort put in the character rework, but I am a bit surprised of watching videos and reading comments about Deadpool buff and mostly all are focused on his new animations. It is true that the animations look good but for me there is a missed opportunity to make an unplayable character playable, and that is the purpose of buffing champions unless I am missing something. I don't see anyone playing him on long term or ranking him up before any other old animation champion but with good damage. I was waiting for this buff and for me it's just made and unplayable character still unplayable but with good animations.

Agree. For the animation this buff is 10/10,but for all other aspects he is still nothing special.
i can't think on one scenario that i will choose to use him instead of other champion and it sucks because his animation is really great, but not many people will continue to enjoy it because he will probably continue to sit on the bench. I think this is a huge miss from kabam.

Just effortlessly took down 6.3.1, pre-nerf, Medusa with a R1 6star…. I think DPX is a victim of the mutant class being crazy stacked. But other than that the buff took an unusable character for developing rosters and gave us a character that has utility now in endgame content. The specials are truly underwhelming but his heavy is his damage source. So if you like parry/heavy game play you’ll have a good time here.
