Forum milestone achieved

It took a while, but I finally reached the galactically disagreeable milestone. Ten thousand disagrees in 14500 posts. Actually, only about 3600 posts have disagree flags, which means only about 25% of my posts are disagreeable. And when they are disagreed, they only average about 2.8 disagrees. Yes, I counted.

Still, I thought it was worth looking back upon my disagreeable career, see the highllights.

Most disagreeable post (that I'm aware of): 46 disagrees (https://forums.playcontestofchampions.com/en/discussion/comment/958407#Comment_958407). Seems quaint now, talking about bugs benefiting players.

Most disagreeable thread starter: 24 disagrees (https://forums.playcontestofchampions.com/en/discussion/301160/alliance-war-revives-should-be-free-not-click-bait-im-serious). There's pretty much nothing you can say about Alliance War that won't get you flagged. Not even hey, lets give away free stuff.

Well, as I always say, if no one is agreeing with you you're probably crazy, and if no one is disagreeing with you you're probably boring. Although those two guys need to get another hobby.

Looking forward to disagreeing with all you fine people for another however many years. I have another alliance war post I've been working on, hoping to break the record. And yes, this was all in fun, I don't need therapy or anything. I mean, not specifically for this.

Well done! My disagrees are my third highest metric, behind only “agree” and “lol”. I just had my most disagreed post, which was a very short one about representation. I’m pretty proud of it.

I'm happy being the Duke of Debate. I don't need to go for Supreme Chancellor of Controversy. Maybe in a few years if I'm still funny I can review all my lols at 10k. Although I'm not really that funny, I have done some extraordinarily hilariously dumb stuff over the years and decided for one reason or another to share.

This isn't a contest. Or rather, I don't treat it like a contest. It is more like when Quint and Hooper are comparing scars. They are a sign you've seen some stuff, but only a loon would go deliberately looking for them.

You speak your mind, you give as good as you get, and you're going to get flagged. If I have any point at all to this goofiness, it is that people posting on the forums should be polite, courteous, and open to discussion, but they should also not be afraid to take the occasional jab. It only means what you let it mean.

I have ten thousand disagrees. What does that mean? It means I have ten thousand disagrees. There's people who like me, and those who hate me, but at the end of the day, my posts get read, and useful discussion sometimes miracles itself around them. That's all that really matters to me, and it is all that really should matter to anyone else.

only react I've passed 1k on is agrees. Not even 900 disagrees yet. I'm calling that a win.

Disagrees spark debate, and therefore shows differences of opinion which helps us all see things from other points of view. This is how we learn. Unfortunately not everyone is included in that bracket, some people never will.
