Why is Apoc considered a great champ? (Excluding synergy)

I just don’t get it.

All his debuffs are more or less useless debuffs.

He cant power control.

He needs ramping up.

Can hardly counter evades.

How are you using (or misusing) your Apoc?

It’s tough to know what’s not working for you without more info. I’d bet there are plenty including myself who are happy to offer suggestions, but the list you’ve made isn’t that useful.

Like what is he really best at?

He doesn’t have huge damage like cgr.

He doesn’t have power control like Doom.

He doesn’t shut down robot like Magneto.

He doesn’t nullify.

What is he Great at exactly?
He does have good dmg. Foes cant shrug his debuffs. Hes tanky. His debuffs are awesome so dunno what ur talking about there. And hes got immunities. His evade counter isnt the best ofc but it's solid. Stun on block is very helpful for easy openings. I get the feeling you really dont have a ranked apoc. And you cant exclude his synergies as they are great both for him and others. Cable apoc is an insane duo. And ofc the horseman ability is unique and top notch. How can you not like big daddy apoc
This is a pretty good response to the questions by @TheManMythLegend , so I will add that it seems like OP’s expectations are unrealistic.

One could argue that Doom can’t phase damage like Kitty or Ghost, or that Magneto struggles against non-metal champs (as well as what we can assume will be increasingly more common champs like Nimrod that counter Mags)….therefore making both Doom and Mags “not that good.”

When you consider that many of his main synergy partners are also very good champs in their own rights (AA, Cable, Prof X, etc.) it’s hard to see how Apoc doesn’t rank at top of class and near the top of all champs.

I’d also ask OP to share what rarity and level of Apoc he/she is using and how/where they are using Apoc. Might be easier to diagnose what OP is doing wrong than argue about abstracts.

I've got a 6* Rank 3 Apoc unduped. I don't use him in AQ, *sometimes* in AW, *sometimes* in Quest..

I'm just not quite sold that he does something SOOOOO well in the game that he's literally hitting it out of the park ala Doom with Power control, ... cgr with damage, ... or even Falcon with evades.. or AA with his nuro... those champs accomplish those things with ease, and they're all a real pain to deal with (i.e., power & evades )

OK I'll give you the 'no shrugging off stun' - but seriously how often do you face that in the game? Not often.

He's one of the best options for multiple act 7 paths, is immense in war for certain nodes, does huge damage, debuffs that stick, evade counter, becomes bleed and incinerate immune, has concussion, degen, poison, weakness, can stun through block, stun immune...

And not without irony; if YOU did not have ranked up tagged champions, he was one of the best, if not the best option for the new tags monthly EQ, that they released last month:

Something that you posted three times about. And you had a 6* r3 apoc just sitting there, more than capable of lifting you through most of it, with a couple of synergy partners.

He's one of the very best champions in the game, in his own right. Even without horseman. In the most stacked class of mutants, he's the best, bar maybe kitty. Which is what everyone says, except it seems, you. Maybe people like Mike, kt1 and nearly everyone on the forums are wrong and you are right.

(He doesn't even have a high skill threshold like ghost, kitty or quake.)

I'd hazard a guess, that you are indeed, possibly missing something.

A bit late to the party. But lol, it feels like you are my twin on this stuff. I have 5* r5 Apoc that I've never been tempted enough to use. He's just not the best at what he does. The only time I used him in Act 7 is on the lane with DDHK. I have almost all the champs I need to cover everything in the game. I just can't see in what scenario I need to use him instead of Ghost, Kitty, Doom, Mags, CGR, Torch, Claire, AA, Guardian, Nick

Simple as, you dont like him, don't rank him up, ppl are giving a bunch of reasons he is good, you are just being stubborn about it.
