As Moleman isn’t in the rebalancing program didn’t Kabam say they wouldn’t be changing champions’ mechanics outside of this 3 month timeframe? Personally I don’t really like Moleman’s aesthetic and only recently pulled him so this won’t affect me but there’s a really important principle being violated here in my opinion.
Surely the process is: - Champion designed/tested released - Turns out a missed bug exists - Bug is fixed ASAP so you can close the chapter on this champion - X months later needs champion needs buffing - Champion is buffed, descriptions updated, released. - Turns out new kit = new bug - Fix bug ASAP so you can close chapter on this champion.
This is also the sort of thing that should be done before players spend money targeting said champion, before they clear content such as EoP, targeting said champion, or pick them out of a 202X selector. Doing all of this means there’s no recriminations, or at worst oh this buff is a bit underwhelming but at least I didn’t spend 72 hours grinding the arena or sell my eldest son on eBay for Cav crystals to pull the champion.
There’s probably somebody who got their final R4 materials from side quest and EoP, rank 4d Moleman as their first rank 4 and then an hour later found out he was going to be neutered.
If you can really tell me that person doesn’t deserve to be able to reinvest their resources after how badly Kabam have dropped the ball on this, you’re being performatively uncaring. This is a game we play and love, and the negative impact of leaving that player with a dud as their only rank 4 after a year of grinding for materials far outweighs the negative of letting them rank down that champion.
I had an alliance mate that used his act 7 100% r4 gem on moleman. It's probably safe to say he wants to smash his phone at this time now.

I’m in that boat. Had many options, kingpin, fury, falcon, etc but went moleman. And added 180 sigs to him…. I would NOT have done that with this change.
I'd appreciate if the Champ is left as he's been working for over a year. He's not considered overpowered and this fix would simply make him less useable and less fun to use. This is an instance of fixing a bug that doesn't need fixing!
Don't really care about the change. But the messaging is an utter disaster. This lack of transparency and communication is once again plaguing Kabam. Did well for a while, then the input issues started, and Kabam went back to being completely silent outside of the typical "we are working on input issues" or "we have nothing to share at this time".
This is complete BS. I actually use him often and is one of my top 10 champs in my rotation. No warning, as they have been saying the exact opposite for a year or more. Criminal. Don’t lead people on. When you identify a bug fix it immediately! What about all the people who have ranked him up over the last year under false pretenses. He isn’t a complete game changer like Herc or Apoc or Doom so let him be.
Bug or not this ability has gone on too long to change it now. I don’t watch videos or read the forum very often. I just play the characters and get used to how they work then base rank ups on if I like them or not. I would not have taken him to r3 if I knew they were taking this away. Rank down tickets or leave him alone. This ability does not make him over powdered compared to many other champs in the game. He’s perfect as is.
not gonna lie, i can see them monetizing this bug fix, by releasing a new champ later on with a synergy with mole man that allows him to do whatever he can do right now

And how would that be monetizing it exactly? Not that it would ever happen.
What annoys me the most it’s not the bug fix (and i have a r3 MM and i use him everywhere so i’m really upset about it), but the lack of communication even after 360+ messages on this thread. The only thing the said was to keep this discussion civil and constructive. Really?

new champ with OP synergies (think Nick Fury on release)--> buy cavs--> money --> win?

Because people will go for the character's preview bundles, and cavs to try to get him or her to make mole man great again, easy way for Kabam to make $$$

The real info we need is whether or not kabam will consider undoing this "bug fix". What the vast majority of the player base wants (except for groundedwisdom and demonzfire who always have a different opinion from everyone else) is that mole man stays as he is now. Easy enough to correct the ability decription to reflect the way he works right now. Meaning he will lose true accuracy if he reaches 10 monster mass. He will keep it if he stays below 10 monster mass. Whether he enters frenzy or not. Easy fix. No gamebreaking bug here. Not a champ that's unbalanced as is. And you spare us summoners the pain and frustration, the feeling of loss and of being robbed we would get from this nerf. After a year and a half that the champ was untouched with no bug acknowledged by kabam.
Let's not stray from the topic at hand. as i pointed out before, i think this is the best approach to resolve this situation as he isn't by any means game breaking and wouldn't affect the game negatively if the changes stay as is and his description is fixed.
I hope you realise how ironic the meme is. It's not a nerf if it's a bug fix.
Yes, I chose my wording for that exact reason. From Kabams perspective it’s a bug (one that as others have pointed out, they have been quite happy to profit from players opening crystals for him and using cats on) however from a players perspective (and hopefully some of the devs who actually take pride in their job) it’s a nerf.
Holiday in Canada and they won't reply till Monday... sounds like a good reason not to buy any July 4th offers today. Let's give them a chance to respond before we decide whether or not to spend any more on this game if this is how the player base will be treated. The audacity to prioritize "fixing" a beloved champion with all the other issues this game has is truly shocking.
One of the mods just closed a "I've been banned please help" post like 30 minutes ago so at least some of them are not taking the day off. So it'd be nice to hear something else from them if they are working.
All these forum mods have the authority to do is say "Hi guys! We'll take this feedback to the dev team.", and then they will wash their hands of it.

I saw that a moderator had commented on the thread. Scrolled through to find it hoping for some good news. That this was the comment and there are no others is disappointing to say the least.

I have yet to see them intentionally undo a bug fix.
Every few months, each time I start to think Kabam is doing a great job with the updates, something like this happens...and I start hating the guys again! lol
I happen to own an r4 sig 200 MM so this hits close to home. Saying he is garbage after the change is wrong. He isnt going to be trash and will still be very useful - but his value decrease would have led me to make a different choice for an r4 champ (hello kingpin).
I admin MM is not performing as described so the change is Kabam’s to make, but the communication and short timeframe SUCKS. While it was certainly good that the change was announced BEFORE July 4 spending, so people can make informed decisions, but how many times was this exact question asked for MONTHS with zero response? Not even a “we’re looking at this”. Why announce with such little notice after all this time? Overall it has a very anti-player feel. I’m not going to stomp my feet and cry about it, but would love to have my r4 skill gem back so I could make a more informed choice now that we understand your intentions for his kit. I imagine others feel the same.

Why not changing its description to reflect how it acts now... It has been here for monthes and people love moleman.
I really hope it will stay like it is now ... it will be a good message to the community !
This character is so enjoyable !
