Automatic default to auto fight after a crash

Why does it default to auto fight after a crash during story mode or any event with auto fight? When I’m fighting and my game crashes it defaults to auto fight and it throws me off every time. Please fix the auto fight after a crash. I’ve lost champions every it happened.

They're supposedly fixing this in the next update.

I'm the meantime, click the autofight on and off before the fight starts to regain control.
