it always been like this. It depend how you open app, if your punch hole camera is left or right will dectate if you get spacing or not.

you have front camera on your phone right ? if it is on left side when opening app the spacing is diffetent then if camera is on right side.
Just close your game. put your phone in landscape with camera on left and see your champs Close game and now move phone to have camera on right side and go check your champs.
What app is doing is to avoid the camera cut to overlap so spacing is different depending which side is the camera. And it only work when you first time open the game
