July 4th offers

I thought one of the YouTubers mentioned that the July 4th offers might be offered again for people that missed out. Did I imagine this? If not has a date been released? Thanks!!

The tiered deals during the July 4th sale ended when they were meant to, yes. But the messaging around it was unclear and some people missed their opportunity to buy the deals. There are discussions around finding a way to give those opportunities back to the players who missed them, but it isn't a small task and will take time to evaluate and explore. It's also not a guarantee.

To elaborate, because this affected in-app purchases, it is a non-trivial task to offer them to only a select group of players. It does happen but there are app store rules that make this complicated, and there are also non-trivial mechanics involved. Completely separate are issues revolving around figuring out who was affected and preventing double dipping.

My only hope is that if/when they make these offers available again, and it inevitably goes to EVERYONE again, that they make a crystal clear announcement regarding what happens if people purchase twice, BEFORE they even push the offer out.

Will there be ramifications, or will they just accept that was the easier way to get the offers out there, and let folks purchase twice if they choose to.

Something to the effect of:

"We will be reposting the July 4th sales for those that missed the original offers. We've made every effort possible to ensure this offer only goes out to those who did not purchase during the original offer, however if you purchased originally, and see the offer a second time, purchasing these offers will result in [blah blah blah punishment] or [no action].

Actually, I am assuming it potentially affected both, but I am not 100% certain of that. If it only affected the in-game offers for units and not the in-app purchase offers, then none of the app store stuff would apply. It would still be tricky to reoffer, because if anything double dipping is potentially likely to be more widespread with the unit-based offers than the cash based ones.

When Jax says tiered offer, just makes me think unit deals. Those ended before the cash offers. Unit deals ended on Monday and cash offers ended on Tuesday.

I didn't think it was a win, just stated that I thought someone said it. I don't even know if it is going to happen which is why I came to the forums but I appreciate your feedback.

It was the pop-up, multi-stage, offers to spend your units (was it 1000, 3000, 7000 stages/tiers of units or something like that).
And only would have affected those who were otherwise planning on getting all the tiered offers on the very last day. Supposedly waiting, while building up Units to have enough for all 3 tiers.

Now if you had bought the 1st Tier (1000 units) on day-2 or afterwards, it WOULD NOT have affected you. Because the “reset” timer for the next tier would have extended your expiration out beyond what the “early” stoppage day was, and you would have indeed have had an expiration that was beyond the original expiration.
**so mostly only those ppl that didn’t want to spend the initial 1000 during the week, and wanted to wait until had enough for all 3 offers at once.

As for OP @Seismicfish , “offered again for people who missed out” ? Do you mean you were not around for that originally, or in no way would have had enough units even with 1 extra day ?
Saw someone else on forum say they hadn’t been around during that whole time period, and so missed out because they hadn’t logged into game that week, and wanted Kabam to re-offer it again so they could now get it. NOPE.

If they were to offer it again, would be really hard to limit it to a small subset who didn’t buy the first level or 2 (so didn’t have an extension) but DID have enough units by that final day in dispute, and who had indeed been logging in those days. And not to anyone who had indeed bought all 3 levels for first time.
So most likely would be offered again to everyone. Which would make a whole new set of forum posts about how it's UNFAIR that some ppl would now be able to double-dip on it.
