Yearly champion selectors

Were there ever yearly selectors before 2020? Not being around since the beginning, I would love to be able to be rewarded 2019 6* selectors with all champs. Maybe a top reward would be to choose a gem of the year, then the gem has that years champs. 2019...warlock, Doom, etc. Others could get that champ that eludes them.
I know I enjoy the new champs too, but would be a way of creating older yearly gems and forgetting wish crystals, which I think would take more programming. Or maybe these years already had a gem and I am just too new and missed out?

2020 ones were the first to be introduced. Doubt they would make older crystals like this but it would be cool if they did.
