As this is a totally dead thread, is S3 of the Umbrella Academy any good? Pondering renewing Netflix

It is decent at best. Neither myself nor others I know have been able to understand where the producers are going with the plot. I had some itches from S2 that I was hoping S3 would scratch, but sadly they did not and the itches are waning. The plot is confusing, but it’s wildly entertaining and theatrical as ever. I am hoping that the next season will tie a lot of things together.
The Sandman sounds interesting, quite a good cast on that. Shame about Umbrella, I’m in the same boat as you - they killed off my favourites and I’m not sure about the remnants.

I’d renew it just to watch the sandman
Definitely worth the price of admission.
The only problem with The Sandman is the pain you'll experience having to wait for another season to materialize after watching it. Which, come to think of it, is weirdly on-topic for the thread.
To on-topic it, we’ve only got Disney+ and have just reached Falcon/Bucky, which I think is currently my favourite of the Marvel series.
Until petrol drops Netflix might have to wait until S3 of the Witcher too, unless the other half has withdrawal from not watching Friends on repeat during her lunch breaks lol.

I have the same problem 🤣 Friends, and The Office, which I can’t seem to pick up

The office, at least the US version is in my top 5 shows that I would ‘Thanos’ if I could. I did however spend nearly 40 minutes watching highlights of Ron Swanson (Parks & Rec - well worth it) during a really dull meeting this week.

If it’s anything like American Gods, I’d cancel Netflix. Neil Gaiman is weird. Not entertaining.

Entertaining enough, I would say. Not for everyone to be sure, but actually vastly more popular than I would have expected.
American Gods shares some stylistic nuances with Sandman, but I would say they are completely different kinds of works. American Gods is a deep dive into the intersection between culture and myth, while Sandman is (at least in part) a modern take on classical myth-as-cosmology.
Sandman is also the jumping off point for one of the best long form comic book stories I’ve ever read, Mike Carey’s Lucifer (which, no offense to fans of the show, I hope the success of Sandman leads to that story being given the opportunity to be done right).

I will say that if you apparently really don’t like the office, then Parks and Rec may not be your cup of tea, but they do both manage to pull off reasonably different atmospheres for Joe similar the premise is.
Also, I would go through all of Endgame just to snap back the Office. Easily in my top 3.
