An interesting idea to buff nexus crystals?

So this post may have been inspired by seeing a lot of people posting their nexus crystal pulls, some yielding exciting and some yielding disappointing results. Also this will be referring to nexus crystals in which all 3 choices are of the same star rarity (so not cav nexus crystals)

We all know nexus crystals don't come by that easily, they are usually meant to be rewards for challenging content or seasonal rewards or bought from offers. We probably all have been through situations where all the work we put in felt wasted upon a nexus crystal that popped up 3 champions in which you already own at a decent sig level. There's also the question of whether a nexus is worth 3 separate crystals and whether it should be priced at that value.

As the game grows larger and specific champs become harder and harder to chase for, perhaps nexus crystals can represent something more special than they are currently. Here's the idea, upon opening a nexus crystal:

1. The first choice/left choice will always be a champion that you do not own (A new champion)
2. The second chioce/ middle choice will always be a champion that you own but is unawakened (First dupe)
3. The third choice/ right choice will be a wildcard, it can be a new champion, a champion you own at any signature level

The rationale is that every nexus will always be exiciting as you will always get the option of finding a new champion to add to your roster or awakening a champion you already own, unleashing their full potential and the last wildcard option just represents default value.

It would not take many Nexus crystals per year to dramatically change the dynamics of champion acquisition and awakening. I'm not a whale and I have 166 6* champs through normal acquisition. If these Nexus rules had been in place from the start, I am pretty sure I would have all, or nearly all of them.

This ironically helps those of us with large rosters, not small ones. Small roster players would get some moderate benefit, but the larger your roster, the higher the Nexus advantage would become, because the number of champs you are missing or have unawakened would be much smaller, making the Nexus more effective at targeting something you still want. I do not believe that sort of positive feedback would be good for the game overall.

That would essentially just be a four choice Nexus.

In nearly every case there's likely to be at least one champion in the Nexus that a player doesn't want. And in those cases, there would be no reason not to reroll it. So outside of the very rare case where a player gets a Nexus with three highly desirable champs they can't easily decide between, you'll always be seeing four champs and choosing from among the three best.

In nearly every case there's likely to be at least one champion in the Nexus that a player doesn't want. And in those cases, there would be no reason not to reroll it. Your right. But you could make it so when re roll there's say a 50% chance to not re roll and lose that champ Making it a 2 choice Nexus. The % could be even higher to like 90% so it's a high risk. Or even another method of of a 10% chance of losing 2 options and a even 1% chance of losing the whole crystal. These % obviously would change but would make it a High risk for a underdetermined reward. I'm sure you will find a way to tear this idea apart but could be cool.

Considering the overall setup required and as DNA pointed out the level of intricacies regarding everyone's individual progression and what they're looking for I would have gone for something more straightforward and simple like getting the offer to upgrade all base crystals premium hero crystals, three star hero, four star hero, five star hero into a Nexus for an extra 2000 shards.
