This post is only about my opinion, you are free to agree or disagree on the different aspects mentioned.

The game has been taking a very unpleasant and harmful turn for some time, which indicates that its future will be complicated.
Despite the fact that many things are evolving in a good way (new content, new game modes, improved rewards for current modes, etc.), there is also an increasing evolution of negative aspects (be it bugs or others...).
Here are the different reasons that let me think that the "end" of an era of the game will soon be over (in 6 to 12 months):
1) It's not a secret, bugs have always been present in the game. However, solutions are rarely found which means that these bugs are never or almost never fixed. Moreover, with each update, new types of bugs are introduced (on combat controls, interface bugs, etc.), each with a different degree of importance but impacting the game in many different ways. The bugs are therefore accumulating with time and the moment will come when the game will become unplayable unless solutions are found (set up maintenances to test if they work).
2) A second major point: the lack of communication from Kabam and the lack of attention to the desires, needs and expectations of players of all levels. I understand that it is difficult to satisfy everyone, especially when the player base is diverse and varied (different age groups, different video game cultures, etc...) BUT there is a huge lack of interest towards the players by Kabam (the moderators are doing their best, the development team as well as they could be understaffed which could explain many things especially the first point mentioned). It is essential for a game to stay in touch with its community. We can see this lack of interest in several parts of the game, whether it's for the compensations (which, in my opinion, should be essential when creating something that doesn't work or doesn't work well...) or the different decisions taken that go against the suggestions or desires of the players. (Of course, it is not necessary to ALWAYS listen to the players but regularly)
3) The increase of paid offers, exorbitant prices and P2W trends. For the past 1/2 month, we have seen an evolution in the need for players to spend units, whether it be to get into Sector 9 Zone 25 of new forays or to have access to the various items and resources provided during events. Perhaps this is part of Kabam's strategy in the run-up to Christmas and Black Friday (November 25). In any case, the new releases of the latest game modes imply a huge importance to the spending of units to reach the best rewards (battlefield / incursions). Of course it is still possible to play without spending any money but you'll get stuck if you don't have enough time to farm resources in the arena etc.
4) Last but not least, a controversial topic that is ESSENTIAL to mention: modding / hacks. I won't dwell on this subject, everything has surely been mentioned already and no communication is made... It seems that Kabam would like us to believe that they would own these accounts to make the unit whales spit out.
I'm really worried about the future of the game and the way it's going. The addition of the relics that will drastically change the game which is completely stupid. One of the best things to do from the creators would be to take 1/2 month off to fix the different bugs with a compensation at the end. Once everything is running smoothly, focus on new content, solutions to cheating and adding new features.
Despite this, the game remains incredible and one of the best mobile and tablet games, with an evolution, admittedly clumsy, but always present. It's time to wake up and focus on the good stuff.
Unless Kabam wants to focus on the Disney Mirrorverse and therefore collect as much money as possible before closing MCOC xD
Thanks for reading to the end, as said before, this is just my personal opinion.
