    Hey everybody,

I know this has been a contentious topic recently, and we agree that this behaviour is unacceptable and not sportsmanlike. Exploiting matchmaking to match yourself or anybody else specifically is not in the competitive spirit of Battlegrounds, or the Contest.

We've recently made some changes to matchmaking that should make this process more difficult, but we will be taking action against those that we have found to be abusing this system.

On the topic of the Accept/Refuse screen, we've talked about it and it's an option we're exploring. We would need to remove the functionality for anybody to explore other menus/screens while matchmaking though.

I think this changes you guys made were the reason why I kept getting match refused; because the one who was trying to match himself, couldn't. I waited an ENTIRE MORNING without getting a match cause of that, this is why I think some changes need to be made to the Accept/Refuse button as well.

Is it not sportsmanlike like sandbagging or like actual cheating?
    Neither one are sportsmanlike.

I know. I'm just curious if both are considered cheating, thus banning people or both are 'just' considered not sportsmanlike. Or this is considered actual cheating.

Sandbagging is unsportsmanlike. Refusing matches so you only play against your alt account? That's cheating.

Hmm, maybe it would be possible to do only in the top end? I know it's definitely longer to match up there so it could help. I'll have to ask if that's even possible though.
This would definitely help, at least in the Gladiator Circuit.

Well, I consider both cheating as a matter of opinion. However, he spoke specifically about this exploit. I don't believe any actions other than prevention will come from sandbagging.

I've done a lot of experimenting and believe the current matchmaking looks at the average pi of the deck. If that is the case the person at the top may fix their pi and that of their alt account to a low figure to match with each other. Personally I believe people should be randomly matched with people in their tier for fairer matching as it's a simple way of stopping the sandbagging

It's not cheating because there's no rule against it but more considered exploiting a loophole. In this case, they can take action against your account.

In other match making games, you very rarely have the opportunity to explore other menus. Which is fine because your focus should be on matchmaking anyway

I'm not sure if this may be helpful, but you can make it an option to pick/tick from the settings if you want. It will allow some fights that option. This is how it could work, if you fight a player who has that option off automatically the match will have the option off. But if two players have that option on, then they'll have the option to proceed or no. Though it's being exploited, I'm sure there was a good reason why it was added in the first place. Obviously, if your match coincide with a real life activity you can have the option to continue or quit. It's happened to me where opponent rejected and some matches were never accepted. Pretty sure I've also not accepted some fights cos I was distracted or something came up.

Does "taking action" mean actually adjusting scores for solo and alliance events too? Because it's drastically affecting those numbers. The cheaters and/or abusers should in now way receive any rewards from it.

You could have the same window that opens with the 10 second timer just open when searching for a match, and you can cancel the matchmaking, but once a match is found have it unable to be canceled. This way the player can't menu out during matchmaking.

I could never understood the need to accept/refuse... there is literally no information to help make that decision..
The accept/refuse option should appear on the "ban champions' screen".. if not...dun even bother with that accept/refuse option..

As awful as battlegrounds matchmaking is, that would make it actual unplayable. People could just decline any matchup until they get matches without rank 3s. It's a lot like the actual problem, except it would cost actual players losses instead of modded accounts.

It happens specifically at the top of the leaderboards (Celestial +) and has been known for the longest time now.
This entire morning I got to play A SINGLE MATCH (Against a modder BTW who took down my R4 KingPin using BWCV in 40 seconds 100% health).
    The process is very simple:
    - You have 2 devices (A legit one and a modding one)
    - Hit Search
    - If they match at the same time you know it's between yours 2 devices
    - If just one gets a match, you refuse and repeat.

It happens over and over and over again, I got refused more than 50 times this morning cause someone was trying to abuse the matchmaking system.
Just took the damn button away, it doens't make any sense.

PS: LITERALLY NO ONE IN CELESTIAL + HAS EVER MATCHED RAYMOND333333 (1°ST), just saying...

I hope they fix this issue sooner than later because obviously its an issue , I have a question thou do you know everyone in Celestial to say not one person has match that person. I've seen that name on youtube but I'm wondering because people you know haven't match that person how can you be so sure NO on match that person unless you know every single person in Celestial, I'M asking this because i personally match that account 2 or 3 times over the week.

There are groups on LINE in which there are most of the players in Celestial League; you might have faced him climbing up the victory road (in which of course he does not need his modded account) but no one has ever matched him in the Gladiator Circuit. Staying at 600+ rating means that he can (mostly) face accounts that are in the 450+ range and trust me, I've never faced him nor @BeroMan nor @TheKiryu and all the others have.

Put some screenshots in here then.

I don't Screenshot my fights i just play the game, you just showed two Youtubers and I'm 1000% sure they don't know all the top players to say no on match that account, again I'm saying they should remove that feature i just think its irresponsible to accused someone of something without proper facts when i myself match that account 3 times and yeah i lost all 3 times close matches but i lost but its not that serious i just enjoy playing the game. i don't do that Line Group stuff just my alliance which is just plat 3, i do have a huge account thou and enjoy BG I'm in Gladiator Circuit i never faced Kiryu or BeroMan or some of those other players so I guess you're going to say I'm cheating too huh since i never face those guys. I'm not saying that account is not cheating or being unfair but i don't have valid proof and i wont go on any platform and accuse them even if i never match that account that's all I'm saying, any how enjoy your day and Enjoy the game and remember its just a Game.

Ill be honest I hit celestial 4 and everyone in top 3 Ive never played and they keep gaining points. A lot of the “people” in celestial 4 are modders. I have yet to see someone face Raymond or myself.

If a player excessively matched another player and always won, and that opponent use mods to get to the level then both accounts should be banned.
Would be an interesting peice of data analysis. I've used correlations in investment analysis before and these accounts should stand out like an elephant in a chicken coop.

The real bummer here is Kabam's take on it calling it unsportsmanlike behavior and the promise of resetting their points... Its not unsportsmanlike behavior!.. they used a modded account to climb.. IT'S CHEATING, and the punishment should be BANS not point resets...
