I got very lucky, 2 x AG and 1 x T5CC so better rewards than every other month for me. If I was just getting candy the only thing I'd have liked was to spend them all on cav Crystal's. After I bought them all I've not been concerned about the other rewards.

I’m happy for you but this should never happen when most of us get nothing.

    1) setup a system where RNG decides common path (candy) versus rare paths.

    2) if and only if the RNG comes back lucky, the summoner chooses the path among the rare paths.

    3) once a reward is chosen, it’s gone.

This prevents the ridiculous windfall you got (I am truly jealous…no hard feelings though) while giving summoners flexibility over their needs. I got gold twice, which was worth less to me than the 20,000 candy. It’s a terrible feeling.

Why do you specifically dislike RNG in a side quest but are fine with it everywhere else?

I think it was fine but it could be made better if the value of candy was improved. After a while it hurts to land on candy when you’ve already gotten everything you need out of the store. Maybe buff the store in having a 6 star awakening gem for the cost of 25 days worth of candy or something like that so that way you actually have to choose between multiple different things you want in the store

The rng was terrible, but it still had the chance for some better than normal rewards

While everyone dislikes the rng, I expect there were many very happy with their rewards. I wonder if the AG was only a generic 5*, if there would actually have been less complaints.

The useful candy store purchase options as an Uncollected player tapped out so fast that it forced me to finish my run to Cavalier. So I guess kudos for finally getting me over the hump there, but seriously so little worthwhile for Uncollected players in the store if you have been Uncollected for a little while.

I haven’t loved it. Or rather RNG hasn’t loved me.

I opened every possible cav (apparently 40+?) and didn’t get a single 6*. Got maybe 4 or 5 5*’s, all the rest 3 and 4*s. I know for many even this would be OK given the big influx of ISO, but I am never short on ISO so for me not helpful.

To date I’ve had two non Candy days. One was gold (Which I don’t need as I’m generally sitting on about 115M) and a T5C which was somewhat but not incredibly helpful as I have multiple of each.

Who knows - 5 days left so might still get lucky. AG, shards, or 2 T5B would make me happy at this point.

0 - the worst sq ever. Why offer great rewards when there's crappy chances of getting them. Then the candy shop also had crappy stuff to buy with the gazillion candies i had. Kabam really crapped on the sq this past month. I really hope Kabam doesn't screw up another month of sq.

The worst part about the rifts for me was that they paired up 6* signature stones with other great rewards. So whenever you get lucky and land in 'signature stones' path other than the 'candy' path it just ends up being worse because I would've preferred the candy more than this junk. So far I have only received candy and 6* stones(twice).

Lastly how Kabam can improve rifts; Simply NEVER have rifts in the game ever again.

Feedbacks are mostly based on what we have got rather than commenting the rift setup / mechanism.

Kabaam already knows how to improve this kind of events. But decided to leave us at hand of RNG. A guaranteed part would have solved this problem like the chronometer.

Honestly I’d rather be rid of it. I’d ditch the monthly Cav crystals for a guaranteed 6-star if given the chance. The issue in this particular situation doesn’t affect me directly but it’s something I can relate to from past months earlier in my playing.

If two Thronebreaker players go through these rifts and one gets multiple AGs and one gets nothing, you potentially alter the trajectory of those accounts in a much bigger way than the RNG from a crystal or two. Crystal pulls can be largely worked through and even out over time, and you can compensated for by clearing more content. A limited time sidequest…it either hits or not, then it’s gone.

It should not be so RIGGED. The odds on hitting a different path were too low. And obviously low for a reason. My question would be, how many of those who did get lucky and hit something other than candy?
How many of those where whales and how many were free to play? I do not believe in the rng or trust it. Why are a handful of players blessed with great rewards repeatedly and others never even once?
But it isn't just the rng! It's the plan.

I’d maybe give it a 2 if all the 1-2% paths were great, as they all should be for such a low chance.
But landing on the signature stone twice is quite annoying and I’m not sure why it had to be a singular one for such a small chance of landing on it.

Pro: Candy and the candy store are a great consolation prize (store contains useful items) compared to prior rifts, and provide a feeling of control to RNG (choose what you want).
Con: Store candy costs are out of wack, with some things being inexpensive but others seeming disproportionately costly.

Pro: High end rewards from good rift RNG is great (Awakening gem, etc.)
Con: *Structure of the rift makes players feel terrible >30 days of the event (I don't know how many days are in the event, I am guessing 32)

    * This is the main problem with this month's SQ. Yes, RNG means that the majority of players are going to end up with Candy 90+% of the time, with a majority of the players receiving Candy most of the time during this event.

But they way the Rift structure is, is the following formula
SQ Experience = (Player feels good for getting a high end reward + Player enjoys the 'work') * N + (Player feels bad for missing out on high end reward + Player still has to 'work' to earn the consolation prize ) x (32 - N).

From this formula, you can see that most players will feel Bad >30 times this month.

Some players will argue that you shouldn't feel Bad, as Candy is a good consolation. BUT, relative to the high end rewards that are visually shoved in your face (you see that 6-star awakening gem every time), it feels much worse in comparison. Think about opening a 6-star crystal and seeing a reel of Hercules and Kitty, before landing on Iron Patriot. Seeing the reel makes you feel worse than if you had just opened the same crystal and gotten Iron Patriot.

Some players will argue that it is not work, and that is objectively true since it is just 3 fights and then boss. BUT, imagine having to run 3 miles, with Person A being told that they will get 1st place (Awakening gem) or 2nd place (T5cc), and Person B being told they will be in last place. Person B is definitely going to feel bad that they are running the same amount as Person A but know they will have a worse outcome. That is bad design. It is why no sports or other games tell you what prize/result you are getting before doing the actual action.

So, the majority of players, feel bad twice every run, for more than 32 times.

Solution A: Players can choose a path at least once (like in prior Rifts). Kabam could even make players have to earn the ability to choose a path by doing some objectives. Aside from that, overall SQ design would be exactly the same. This has the benefit of making players (1) feel some control in RNG, and (2) Reassure players that they will at least get something valuable this month once.

Solution B: Change up the sequence of events. If players don't know what reward they are getting until after they have already done the 'work', they won't feel bad about having done the work [ie. If Person A and Person B both run 3 miles and don't know the result until after they finish, they both will feel fine about running 3 miles]. The reward could still visually be in a path to pickup, or the reward could just be a Rift Crystal that players earn after each run. In the latter scenario, the Crystal will still have the same odds, but has the benefit of not visually showing players what they are missing out on, and the benefit of allowing players to save crystals to open all at once (opening 32 crystals at once, means they feel bad only one day that month).

Not personally a fan. Another one of my Alliance mates pulled an awakening gem. Pleased for them, but makes me sad :’(
I wanted an awakening gem. Equal effort should lead to equal rewards. Outcome of the rewards will be RNG based, but to have RNG rewards isn’t for me.

But 50% of the voters are either neutral of positive on the event so it really is a decent split of opinion. I guess whether we see this again, will be based off of whether more people engaged with the event due to the high reward potential. Some may not like it, but still play it everyday. If that leads to more gametime, more overall engagement and spending, then Kabam have a winner irrespective of whether in the moment it makes me individually sad :’(

I think it was a good idea but poorly executed. Having a 90% chance to get candy would have been fine if there was something worthwhile to spend that candy on in the store but the stuff you can purchase from the store was extremely outdated. If you got candy every day, it would cost you roughly half of it to be able to purchase all of the 6* which would have netted you 8K, not even enough for a full basic. The only thing worthwhile in the store were the cavalier crystals because you could get 40 of them. I understand that translates into about $400 worth of units however, I think the majority of us would have much preferred being able to purchase 15-20K shards and be able to guarantee ourselves a 6* or 2 than have 40 chances to not get one at all.

Another major flaw of the store was that there was no Chase item. Having a 90% chance to get candy means that most players will accrue a lot of candy during the event. If they put some thing like a generic 6* AG or even an AG crystal in the store that required 80-90% of the possible candy you could earn that would’ve made people feel good about getting candy every day because we would be working towards something. Also, not having some thing like a chronometer or some way to guarantee a rift which they had in past events was a huge miss step. In fact, they could’ve left the entire event alone and just put it in the candy store for a ridiculous amount of candy and I doubt people would be complaining so much about this event. Not being able to guarantee at least one jackpot over the course of 30+ days sucks especially when you see people get two or three jackpots meanwhile, you haven’t gotten anything except for a resource that doesn’t allow you to get yourself anything good.

I gave up hope from this month's pos side quest a long time ago. Too much based on crappy RNG and yet Kabam still offered garbage items to buy in the candy store for those unlucky ones who got nothing but candies. Reading from posts in this forum shows that many players who enjoyed this month's sq were those who scored an ag or multiple ag. This clearly shows that kabam dont care about the players and/or their progression.

It was one of the worst. Looking for a player with the champ of the day is just annoying. I want to play the game not search profiles. Luckey I just ignored searching for them daily and just played and most were found just playing so I just waited to do the rifts halfway through the month. Just expecting to get candy every time was just dull. the chances for other stuff were just way too low to be fun. At least the fights were quick and easy because it was not fun to do.
