Bg Matchmaking Question

Since sandbagging has been fixed and people are saying matchmaking is random now, I’ve only been getting paragons with mostly six stars in their deck whereas I have 10 five stars in my top 30. So for the people with accounts of 5 stars or lower and you getting matched with similar rosters or just paragons? I’m only in gold still so I shouldn’t be only matching players with great accounts and paragons with 1-2 stars still. Or I’m just getting unlucky

The general consensus is that the bottom of your deck has less or no significance towards matchmaking moving forward. This change was basically how they got sandbagging to become less effective. Did you and your opponent have a more similar top 10 champs in your decks?

Random would be fair, but matchmaking is now based more on your player profile than on your deck. It is now easier for an Uncollected player to advance than for a Paragon one.

Can you imagine March Madness in Kabam style? In the first round, a 2nd seed would get matched with the 1st seed instead of the 15th. The 15th seed would get matched with the 16th and have an easier time getting to the next round than the 2nd seed. Kabam's message is: don't build up your roster.

If Kabam is so concerned about coddling players with lower level accounts, make different levels of difficulty like the monthly event and side quests. A low level player can do great in heroic, and eventually build themselves up. Now you see Uncollected guys complain, man I'm in gladiators circuit and have no rank threes. Really? I have many Paragon level players in my alliance that have done everything - breaker of thrones, abyss, breezing through eop itemless - but stuck in gold.

Or, make it random. A player in bronze 3 is looking to play, match them with the next player in bronze 3 also looking to play. First come first serve.

Current system is unfair and frankly, going to be bad for Kabam's business. Again, why spend time, money, resources, etc to rank up champs when it will just make it harder for you to advance?

As predicted, "fixing" matchmaking screwed over the higher players.

Leave it to Kabam to mess up the most exciting game mode they ever created. Throughout the beta, they had different progression titles start with different rating. Bigger rosters had an advantage from the start but faced each other from the get go while smaller rosters could climb.

But surprise, game mode goes official and everybody starts together. Really wonder why we even had betas?

BG matchmaking is more broken than ever now I think. Players with all 2*s getting matched against players with full decks of R4 and R3 6s. Unless you are at the very top you are completely screwed...why not match the lesser players to each other? I don't get it...

I’ve had all paragons so far tonight, but frustrating.
Should be completely random, nothing factored in except the rank you’re in.

Hmmm that's weird, I'm on gold 3, I have about 16 5* in my top 30 but I haven't been facing all Paragons. I faced 3 yesterday and then 1 today so far but that's it.

I was in silver 2. Quite difficult to compete against their full r3 decks lol. Can only hope they didn’t make prestige factor into anything as that’ll kill this mode off for me

6.9k, not even close to that of a Paragon. If matchmaking was prestige based I wouldn't be facing Paragons at all, I've faced four since yesterday.

I didn't screenshot all of them but I did screenshot the first one, and the fact that this person was attempting to sandbag leads me to believe matchmaking is random in some way, either that or matchmaking malfunctioned for whatever reason.

Yeah I think you’re right, bottom champs don’t have much weight, but prestige more so does. I got the two 3-4 rank gems from story which rushed my paragon so I don’t have the developed roster most of my opponents have. Last 9/10 games in gold, opponents have 500k-1.5m total base hero rating above me and it’s getting frustrating.
