Best 5 to take into this nowadays?

Don`t know about best. But my mutant team did make path 3 a cakewalk (outside of bishop who sucks)>
I ran Suicide masteries.
Colossus, Stryfe, Prof X, Apocalypse, Magneto.

I have never done path 4 thou.

Red mags. Makes fights like Darkhawk, Old man Logan and Red Skull really easy.
I also used him for Howard, so you don`t have to worry about the regen.
