You’ve implied it in almost every comment you’ve made. I guarantee you almost everyone on this post would agree. You’ve come across as preachy and judgmental and all because you can’t wrap your head around the idea that someone would spend thousands and thousands of dollars on a video game.
For me 100$ is very valuable but that doesn't mean same is with other people. it's none of anyone's business what he does with his money. the lesson out of this is that very, very few people can spend this type of money and sustain their daily life as well as keep a safety and savings account. don't see other people's spending and think you can do the same

Nobody has said that there aren’t better places for this money to be spent on. Personally if I had £135k spare to blow I’d probably be travelling the world with my other half. I’m going to assume I’d be mortgage free by this point if I’ve got that lying around in my bank.

I still believe it isn't healthy no matter to what you compare them to. It could be seen as a worse 'investment' than NFTs. Actually it is a worse 'investment'.
I once spent $5000 on a pair of first class plane tickets for me and my wife. That's $2500 each for a nine hour experience that has no resale value and no replay value. In real terms even if Magus has spent two million dollars on his account total, he's probably spending less money per hour of game play than I did per hour of flight time on those tickets.
Most people who can spend thousands of dollars on discretionary spending do not spend it on "investments." They don't expect their money back. They spend it on what they want and what they get for their money is what they want.
I am not a billionaire, nor am I a super whale in this or any other game. But I do know when I spend thousands of dollars on a discretionary expense, I'm generally not thinking about my return on investment. I'm thinking about my return on expense and that return is almost never material.

Because the one thing everyone who spends this much money on their hobbies enjoys more than anything else is someone nowhere near their spending level analyzing their spending habits.
