How do I beat proven absorbing man

I've not even got through act 4 chapter 1, and since this is usually the "heroic" difficulty I thought I could at least push through. But this is absolutely ridiculous. Any special attack he uses one shots even my highest power champs, and he regens faster than I can even do damage. I don't have a heal block character above 1300 power, and have zero heal reverse characters. My highest power champ is quicksilver at 3500, 4000 when at advantage. And even then I get one shot by any of his specials. Tbh this event sucks and I'm extremely disheartened coming back to this after taking a break since 2019. Are all events going to be like this now? I can't even grind out a 4 star from events anymore? And how the heck do I actually beat this boss at all? I've got him to 75% and from here he just heals it all back.

Unfortunately, Kabam is too focused on making champions that are tough to the top 5% of players in the game with a diverse roster that many (recent champs especially) are way too difficult to deal with by newcomers due to not having a diverse enough roster.

It is really quickly making the game no longer new player friendly which is a really bad idea. Reminds me of when the WoW devs would tune raids to be difficult for the top 1% guilds that everyone lost interest in raiding. It's much better to utilize node combos to make a champion more difficult than making him only be counterable by 5 champs.

Anyway, best and safest options would be doom or torch, but I'm assuming you don't have them so, gl.

I have doom, not awakened, and he seems shock immune so my whole strat of heavy attack spam into special 1 won't work. I came in with (4 stars) Doom 3/30, quicksilver 4/40, Elsa bloodstone 3/30, captain marvel (movie) 3/30 and a 5 star infinity war iron man 2/25. I'd really appreciate any tips on how I can adjust my doom gameplay to do better here.

Doom can do it and I did it on TB difficult with him. He's quite easy if you are familiar with the doom cycle. If you are not, search it up on youtube, but for this fight, it'd be like this:

Fight him like usual and get him to SP2. Don't throw any specials. Once he's used his SP2 and you've avoided it, just build up to SP3. Use the SP3, and he will be passively stunned after. Then start the doom cycle and spam SP3s. Doom cycle is this:

1. SP3
2. When enemy is passively stunned, use 2 mediums. Then quickly do a 5-hit combo into an SP1.
3. This should get you either AT or CLOSE TO 2 bars of power. From this point on, quickly build to SP3s again by using M-L-L-L-L combos (seen as he's immune to shock, avoid heavies the entire fight and end with light attacks preferably when you have your aura up) -- bonus points if you can do this without him using a special.
4. Once you get to SP3, launch it and repeat the cycle.

This is pretty safe and he will rarely use specials while you power control him the whole way.

Fantastic! I'll definitely YouTube the doom cycle to get a better grasp, but my friend if this gets me to beat this EQ on proven, I'll never forget you lol

Let me know how it goes then! In the actual doom cycle, many people use SP3 -> SP1 -> SP2. In this fight however, you want to do SP3 -> SP1 -> attack him with M-L-L-L-L combo -> SP3 again. And keep doing that.

Hey. Sadly at this point it seems like I've gotta give up. I've been trying, and I got the doom cycle pretty good, but even then, by the time I mess up a few minutes in, he's regenerated all but like 2-3% of what I did. Even with quicksilver and his special 2 cycles it's maybe 4-6% instead, but I can't afford the revives and pots. Guess I'll settle for the lowest difficulty this time unless we get an update.

Ah, sucks. At least you learned something new from it, the doom cycle. The difficulty will most likely get nerfed, hopefully it's sooner rather than later.

I got my doom to 4/40 and my 5* quake to 2/35 hope I can try again later next week, maybe get knull to 4/40 for his degeneration below 20 something % because I just duped him. Don't know if you even care anymore but I just wanted to give a final update and thank you

That 5* quake; watch some quake videos. If you can parry well enough, "quake and bake" him; parry charge heavy (but don't release it), parry, then charge heavy again and just keep doing that on a cycle.

You may be able to get him down relatively inexpensively with her.

Ok I love the term "quake and bake" and yeah I've been trying to learn her better, but I'll definitely look up the timing for this. Kind of useful to have a champ that can do upwards of 10K damage in a couple seconds without giving the opponent any power charge lol
